  • Best picture ever. my grandparents happen to have this hanging around in their house

    and awesome music, of course

  • fuck finally i found this video

  • I like Peer Gynt, shouldn't come to a surprise to many people. After all, Grieg is a musical Genius in and of himself!

  • Comment removed

  • Should have used the troll face as a picture.

  • @Gaaminator No.

  • Brilliant

  • One of aTHOUSAND writes a comment! Interesting!

  • March of the Trolls indeed:

0:00 - 0:24 Logging onto Youtube and searching out a video.

0:24 - 0:53 Punching in any and all racist, homophobic or just plain stupid comments you can think of.

    0:55 - 1:50 The ever-irritating moment of regret.

    1:51 - 1:57 Which is quickly ignored.

1:58 Well, back to work! Trololol!

  • Problem?

  • Huh? dwarves? NO! You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. Trolls come from what the people of Norway could see ... Nature --- seeming to take human shape....even mountains....It was dark 1/2 the year much of the day --- so there were shadows and scary rock formations that LOOKED like creatures. They were drawn, stories were told... This is where they come from. Not "little people" like OZ. While people went on their way, the eye 'saw' trolls.

  • @moltoallegro19

Why yes! *I* am Einar Steen-Nokleberg! Just kidding. I'm a troll. I came to listen this music about my people. Thank you posting it.

  • my anthem

  • trololol!

  • Trolls are not Dwarves

  • @Breedo If you knew Norwegian, you would understand. Troll in norwegian= dwarve.

  • @flyordie2 I've read some Norweigian folktales but yeah those have been translated. What do you call the Dwarfs then? You know the little guys? I know the name huldra but there's another character too I am sure.

  • @Breedo

    "Dwarf" in Norwegian is "dverg".

  • @Breedo If there's a "little character" as well, you should probably try looking up the 'nisse'.

They look a lot like garden gnomes, really, and on christmas eve you're supposed to place a bowl of porridge by the barn as an offering to them.

  • @Jonluw We have nisse in Sweden as well although the more common name over here is tomte. Here he does not always wear a beard or have to dress in red as most illustrators has depicted him. Most commonly he's wearing gray clothing, sometimes he wears a red hat only on christmas eve. I'd love to read more about norwegian tradition of the Nisse. One interesting fact about him is that he's probably been around since the age of the vikings I read in one book.

  • @Jonluw The little ones I was referring to are the little people who live under ground. We have sometimes called them dvärgar aka dwarfs although most commonly called vätte or vittra. I read somewere they were called huldra in norway although I also know the forest maiden are sometimes also referred to as huldra. Once I get my hands on more norwegian folk tales I could clear it up.

  • @Breedo I've never heard "huldra" used to refer to anything other than the forest maiden.

The Huldra does have a male version of the species though. It's called Tussekall and is reputedly rather small.

But whatever, I don't really know much about the folk tales.

  • @flyordie2 troll is troll..

  • @flyordie2 That's not correct. Dwarfs are kalled "dverg", trolls are called "troll".

  • @Breedo indeed.

  • @Breedo Trolled.

  • @Breedo problem?

  • @Breedo grieg couldn't choose whether to compose about pissed off dwarves, or just trolls.

  • @nmbanana Yeah it's a really tough choice.

  • @Breedo trolls and dwarves are born from the rocks, mountains, etc. .. are basically the same "thing"

  • @Guireon Again with the names. I don't know about the nowegian tradition but the original trolls were the decendants of giants, they had a very norse feel to them. Later trolls were like a type of magical people living among the mountains. Then the thing I thought dwarves meant was dwarfs. Which is a more german mythology but very much world wide. If you take the trolls they are of a tougher caliber originally used for heroic tales and foes of great legendary norse warriors.

  • Makes me remember playing Trolls and Tribulations on my Commodore 64 in the 80's.

  • An exciting, exhilarating piece thats intense fiery bass tones support the inferno of a melodie

  • they all have big noses

  • Super!

  • Super!

  • The playing is good.

    Fast tempo. Good dynamics.

  • WHO is playing?

  • @marcxopoco Einar Steen-Nøkleberg :) Sorry, should have put that in the description-box.

  • Stunning! I still have the march of Romo and Juliet buzzing in my head, no kidding!

starting at 2:19 is crazy good!

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Haha, yeah, it's pretty catchy, the Romeo and Juliet march, huh?

  • @moltoallegro19 must be talking about Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights
