  • Cool

  • i like this petey puck better

the new CGI one is down right creepy

  • We had Peter Puck in the US (Chicago) too. He was adorable.

  • I like the old animated episodes better. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

  • peter i missed yea and i use to watch yea when i was growning up as a kid and i heard they were suppose to bring back this past hockey season what happen

  • That's Ronnie Schell voicing Peter Puck.

  • @culpit Ronnie Schell a.k.a. Duke Slater?

  • Charge more for the commercials and reintroduce Peter Puck between periods. I learned shitloads from that animated character, back in the day. I have fond memmories of CBC hockey. It's a shame that dollars mean more than the spirit of Canada"s youth.

  • 2:12 i lol'ed

  • Nice catch on that 1:40 moment....Must have been using the '83 Oilers for demonstration purposes (Even Fuhr had 50 goals that year, didn't he?) BTW, 2 line pass is legal now----This is from '74 I think it said....I was 4 that year. and I have to admit, loved watching every Bruins game with my Dad (good times)---but I loved the intermissions with good old Peter Puck (wasn't on all the time in my area, so it was cool when he was on), and Mini One-on-One matches,,,,,

  • nice catch on that 1:40 moment....must have been the 83 Oilers...Even Fuhr had 50 goals that year, didn't he?

  • Isn't the two line pass legal now?

  • ik heet peter en ik ken iemand die puck heet XD

    lol tog

    :P

  • Wish I was a kid again....

  • show this Vid to Phoenix coyotes and atlanta thrashers fans maybe this might help them understand hockey

  • @shadow188 xept thers no more 2 line pass xD

  • I'm so high- i must be seeing things...... why does this exist?????

  • Canadians spend all this time to animate a whole cartoon to make sure their kids will keep playing their national pastime?

Are you taking notes, Bud Selig?

But I LOVE MY HOCKEY! Granted my team's the Anaheim Ducks, and I've been a fan of theirs since Selanne came in 1996, but hey--7 playoff trips, 2 Finals appearances, 1 going 7 games in a heroic loss and 1 GOING ALL THE WAY FOR THE CUP!

In just 17 years! We're a GOOD expansion team (go back to the 'Peg, Phoenix, Bring Back the Jets!)

  • @obiwanobiwan13 QUACK QUACK QUACK!! Wasn't the 2007 Stanley Cup Final fun to watch? And how about Scott Niedermayer passing the Cup to his brother Rob? About bringing back the JETS: I agree. Their last game in the 'Peg was standing room only! Phoenix doesn't deserve NHL Hockey, Winnipeg DOES!!

  • thank for the memorey tjackson76 that some canadana

  • The original puck price is $1,274.99 in Ebay

    - FREE shipping

    - No Returns Accepted

  • Not as annoying as digger and much more educationald

  • These were great! They're also a look back in time: There's no such thing as a two-line offside any more. The rule was revised in 1976 (I think) to allow offensive players to accept a two-line pass if he was behind the red line before the puck crossed it.

  • This rocks I remember watching this cartoon during the then 2 year old hockey expansion team i.e. Buffalo Sabres.

Peter Puck and Howie "DONT BUY THOSE CHEAP SKATES" Meeker. Two Canadian jewels.

    THanks for posting.

  • ...fell in love with hockey as a five year old watching Peter Puck with my Dad...back when my jersey went down to my ankles....still love the game..thanks Peter!

  • Peter Puck. Say it 3 times fast.

  • wow.. lamer than the leafs!

  • I like how, at 1:40, all 6 marks representing the attacking players are moving down the ice - including the goaltender!

  • i seen this when i was at a leafs game

  • Im too young to have enjoyed peter puck when it originally aired, so thanks so much for posting this :)

  • Clips were supposed to air on the LeafsTV channel a few years ago.

  • I remember this back when I was a little boy. Only reason I watched hockey night in canada. As I recall this usually aired during the second intermission. Some days I miss my childhood so much

  • Everything I know about hockey, I learned from Peter Puck.

  • he's cool

  • These were made by H-B. Actually, I think prior to these airing on Hockey Night In Canada in the mid 70's, they had their first airings on CBS on Sunday afternoon hockey in the late 60's and early 70's, between periods. Hockey, of course, didn't last long on CBS and Peter Puck was never to be seen on American TV again.

  • Correction, the "Peter Puck" segments were on NBC.

  • WHA > NHL

  • Of course this was before they added TV timeouts

  • This looks and sounds like it was made by Hanna Barbera.

  • that's because it was!!......yeah, has H-B's fingerprints all over it!!

  • I want to play a game...

Right now you're breathing in a poisonous gas that will kill you in aproximately 2 hours. You will find behind each of these doors an antidote.

Live or die...the choice is yours...

    lol ;)

  • go clean your room!!

  • I just heard this talked about by Dan Kaplan in a Chicago Blackahawks pregame... crazy

  • It was Brian MacFarlane. You're mixing him up with Scott Young.

  • i thought Peter Puck was created by Robert Goulet!!

  • Sweet video

  • Theres a lot of goons out there :)

  • Peter Puck was created by author, print journalist and former analyst/announcer for Hockey Night In Canada, Brian McFarlane. Peter Puck was also featured on NHL broadcasts for NBC-TV in the United States. His father, Leslie McFarlane, wrote several early editions of the 'Hardy Boy Mysteries'.

  • Haha, the ol 2 line pass

  • Brings back great memories, thx for the vid upload. :)

  • Funny vid!! lol :)

  • Peter Puck was sooooo cool ! It was so much fun growing up with cool shit like this. I just miss the simplicity of the NHL and the humble honesty of the game back then.

  • Bring back Peter Puck!! only use the voice of Don Cherry, then I think you got something eh

  • WOW --- Now that WOULD be Awesome!!! Don Cherry & Ron MacLean are the BEST commentators in Canada.

  • awwe he is so CUTE!!

  • Wow, I'm 5 again. Thanks.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. I grew up with Peter Puck on Hockey Night in Canada.n

Keep your head up, eh... lol

    peace

  • One has to wonder if there were other sports related cartoons in the works, such as "Billy Baseball", "Frankie Football", "Carla Curling Stone", or maybe even "Johnny Jockstrap".

    Now that would be interesting!

  • lol

  • Peter, can you explain to me the process of free agency and contracts and drug testing?

  • yeah, and lockouts and greedy owners who pick up and move franchises?

  • Again? This was the first time, right?

  • I mean, he said, "Peter Puck here AGAIN." And this was the first Peter Puck cartoon.

  • i faved them all thx for the quick flashback.

  • nice thanks..

  • haha, the two line offside was eliminated two years ago. They'll need to make an updated peter puck segment.

  • leafstv is rerunning peter puck and they cut off the segments that do not follow anymore.

  • You'll have to ask Hanna-Barbera to make new ones, then!
