I need to hear the album version of this song, I feel like the sound system was out of whack here (instruments louder than vocals). Worldwide Suicide sounded bad when first performed on SNL, so you can't tell from this performance.

I like it. It rocks, intense, can't really compare it to any other Pearl Jam songs. Definitely has a fast tempo like "breakerfall", "brain of j", "porch" and many others. Seems to have somewhat of a different sound from their previous material, but then again may fit in with the likes of "hail hail", "porch" and many others.

Eddie's vocals sounded clearer back in the days of Porch (which was nearly 2 decades ago rather than one!)....on the other hand I thought the last album was great so I don't think they've been on a downward slope since.

I didn't really take to this track much on a first listen but am hoping it'll grow on me. Often the first singles aren't the best songs on the album - though I did think World Wide Suicide was a brilliant song.

I feel like they shouldn't have changed their style, it was so rebellious that it really drew me in to it. I'm saying the only reason I start being a fan of any band is because they are unique in music and style. I understand Pearl Jam has been around for more than 20 years, and they don't have the same energy that made me listen to them in the first place. At least not live. And this isn't something I'm suddenly noticing, I think most 90's bands just aren't as good.

I love pearl jam. But the chorus is the same as the chorus at the end of "Gut Feeling", by Devo, but with the lyrics changed. I know the band are fans of Devo, so it is understandable. I'm not really upset about it, pearl jam can do no wrong in my opinion. Just a bit confused, trying to absorb it..

would not call it copying just for using the same arrangement of chords. Pearl Jam did copy the Given to fly riff from Led Zeppelin and there was no way of gettin away with that, and I don´t think that was ever a secret anyways. This is, and will always be the best rock band on the planet as far as i´m concerned.

Gut Feeling and Got Some share this in common; they are in the same key. Seeing as how there are only 12 keys in western music, (and then the minors and a small number of modes), you're going to come across songs in the same key,... THOUSANDS of songs in the same keys. The main riff has a couple of similar, (not identical), chords, and that's where ths similarities end. Their writing isn't weak, your knowledge of music and your post are.

If almost anyone leaving comments on this page was a true fan and saw any of their full length shows in 2006 - 2008 for their Self Titled album tour you would know that PJ is at the top of their game. While the sound mix for Eddie's vocals should have been brought way up you can tell this song will be great on the record and live. Download any of their live sets from Summer 2008 tour and you'll hear one of the best live bands putting on 2 hours of non stop talent, energy and focus.

PS Eddie's voice (if you really have listened to this band.....live recordings) is amazing and he never gets dull he changes it up and does many different things for many different songs. but then you hear him sing Black in 2008 and it sounds better then ever, he CAN sing...

Like making comments on how they look...who cares? it sounds great and if you know Pearl Jam you know that this probably in vocals and over all sound is EXACTLY like it will be on the album.
