Job Interview Answer - Why do you want to work for us?

I was just asked this question in one of my latest interviews. I had worked at a much larger, more prominent company than they were, and had worked in the industry for almost 20 years. So to be asked this question, was a little stupid/naive on their part. If a company really wants you, they will not ask this question. I would say this is an "elimination question" -- simply to make people squirm. I'd ask back, "Why did you short-list me for the interview? What popped out of my resume/portfolio?"
