  • i gotta get myself a silicone mat baby!

  • I made these a while ago and they were delicious! I just thought that once the caramel had cooled, it got really hard, and kinda hard to bite into, so I had to make them really tiny :) maybe it's just the type of caramels i used

  • :( I cant eat nuts

  • lol "theres hubby in the background digging some composts"

  • @LatteSmocha lol! Knew people would ask what the strange man was doing in the background :)

  • Looks fantastic! I'll be using your method in the near future. I have made chocolate turtles in the past, however; your video gave me a couple of great tips. Also, your video was very simple and well explained. Thank you for taking the time to show your method. I'm sure all of my friends and I will enjoy these special treats.

  • Thanks so much for this simple recipe. I'm a pastry chef by profession and I'm use to candy recipes being somewhat labor-intensive, but these were a cinch! I used homemade salted caramel and omitted the cereal because I didn't have any. I tempered the chocolate also, so they didn't have to be refrigerated for the chocolate to set up. They turned out great and my family loved them.

  • num num num these look soooo yummy :)

  • I was wondering what kind of nuts did u use for?

  • @hlubmeme I used pecans.

  • @yoyomax12 are pecans your favorite

  • @tracy1012ful Cashews are my most favourite, but pecans are very good in baked goods too

  • &ame6603

I highly doubt that. hubby is an endearing term for husband. not a name.

  • 2:44 i see cinna mon nap cookies!!!!!

  • Great vid :)

  • so you should contact the company that you get your silicon mats through and tell them how much you advertise for them maybe you might get something free!!! love your videos

  • we got caramels in holland 2 :3

  • Thanks for the how-to video! I made chocolate covered cherries (with filling) today and I'm hungry to make more fun candies. Can't wait to try your recipe! I love this time of year :)

  • This is perfect and quick for me to make for Thanksgiving. Thanks for posting this.

  • This is weird but is hubby ur husband?LOL sorry!!

  • @kokanut1 No, that's his name. rofl

  • @kokanut1 Hubby is husband :)

  • I love your ideas!!!

  • I had no idea the general population was missing large parts of grey matter. Makes me not only feel for you, but will never make a demonstration video to help the public after reading these comments. Your video was good and very detailed. It's only idiots that can't figure this out. The questions are ridiculous!

  • @olsen1054 This is one of the best comments I have received in a great long time, thank you.

Every time I read a truly silly/stupid comment I try to remind myself that I have some very young viewers (many that are between 9-15 range) and that those questions are coming from people that truly don't know.

    I helps me cope, lol.

  • those caramels look a lot like fudge..

  • @TheCandylover2000 if you're in the UK you can buy them at the american soda website

  • I need the caramels can you mail them to me

  • is your husbands name hubby because if it is than your names are alike = hubby +tammy they both endy with y and it has 2 letters that are mm and bb

    :)

  • can you not use pecans or nuts?

  • @MindyFee16 yes

  • @MindyFee16 No, definitely not. ;)

  • 2:01 man chopping somthing

  • @teamsoulsiver If you listened to the video you would hear me tell you who the man is and what he is doing

  • We made these again yesterday only this time mixed the dark chocolate with peanut butter and butterscotch chips. A little different and quite good. Everyone who has tasted them was thrilled. I love making a recipe twist to become our own - these will become a staple in our kitchen I think. Thanks again.

  • @thizizliz The best recipes are those you make your own! I like the idea of the butterscotch chips. I love those things so much I can't keep them in the house, I eat them out of the bag,lol

  • @RockPrincess13sc Tootsie rolls...hmmm, that would certainly make them chocolaty. I say that they should probably be fine, if fact I may try that variation next year. :)

  • what camera do you use?? PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!

  • @caliichicks101 I answer all my questions darlin', no need to yell :)

It is a SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-H55 (14.1 megapixels)

  • where did u get that carmek from plz tell me..

  • @mslovablekell2010 These caramel squares are sold at our local grocery stores and at bulk food stores.

  • @yoyomax12 oh thanks.. i meant CARAMEL..i was tryin to type so fast..

  • do we have to use pecans?

  • @lsmaassable If you choose to leave them out then you will have to replace them with an equal amount of cereal otherwise they will be too soft and hard t pick up.

  • I absolutely LOVE these..can't wait to try!!!

  • @MiZzRiVeRa86 They are very good, I'm sure you will like them

  • @crazycat3131 As long as they can be melted over heat, they should be fine.

  • We just made them. We used butter instead of shortening in the chocolate but that was the only change. The carmel stuck like crazy to the waxed paper - it should be HEAVILY greased or use a silpat. After we dipped them, we did put them on silpats now that it doesn't matter. They are in the freezer now (just to be sure) while we have supper. All the parts that we 'inspected' tasted wonderful. We are huge fans of the rice cereal in the carmel. I'm excited to try one after supper. :) Thanks again.

  • @thizizliz They are finished and fabulous. The silpats were the trick. I believe they should be in every kitchen. Wonderful invention!

  • @thizizliz Hey Liz! I'm really far behind on comments. Thanks for the tip about the waxed paper, I'll include it in the description.

  • Can I put the caramel cubes in the microwave for about 10 secs on high and then melt it??

  • @jihahazman15 Yes you can melt the caramels in the microwave. Put caramels and water in bowl in microwave, I would put them in for 30 seconds at a time until they are melted.

  • @yoyomax12 thx for the help and thx for sharing :)

  • @yoyomax12 do you have to add nuts im not allergic just yeah do u HAVE to?

  • @jiodavid329 You can't make pecan clusters without pecans. Otherwise they're just clusters... of what I'm not sure. lol

  • what will happen if i don't put shortning? cuz i forgot to buy it ..

  • @xLelo44x The chocolate might be a bit thick and you have have trouble coating the pieces evenly.

  • is there something that u dont have to us wax at all because i dont now were to get it

  • @alex356hgh You could try butter or margarine, but I don't know what kind of results you'll get.

  • wat could u use instead of shorting

  • @alex356hgh You could use paraffin wax as well, just a tsp or so.

  • ee. I just made these with my own caramel, but Im excited for how they will turn out. I'm waiting for them to chill :P

  • @ddtrinketbb Your own caramel? Very cool.

  • these look so delicious imma try these

    thanks for sharing

  • @lOVEiiNtHeAiir You are welcome, I'm sure you will love them

  • @thesexylady674 You will love them, they are soooo good.

  • @aohmann Not much baking required for these, and people will love them Angie

  • Wow looks absolutely delicious! Wish my mum cooked homemade cakes too:(

  • @sweetsugarpumpkin Thanks for stopping by!

  • I will get braces soon and i was wondering if i can use something other then caramel like chocolate syrup or sumthing?

  • @azngirl10588 You could try peanut butter maybe.

  • @azngirl10588 If you use peanut butter you'd have to use some icing sugar, see my chocolate peanut butter balls recipe

  • im getting braces soon, and i cant eat caramel can I do this with out the caramel?

  • So I made these and they tasted to sooooooo good.

  • @TiffanyNo3l Very happy you liked them!

  • Im making these tonight!

  • I made some last night and they are wonderful. Hope everyone like them for Thanksgiving.

  • @markification I'm sure people loved them, they are sooo good.

  • These look really good.

I had to LOL at your responses to some of the comments. Seriously do ppl not read or watch before commenting? Hey Tammy do I actually have to use chocolate in the chocolate billionaire candy? ; ) SNORT!

  • @Ultimatecruegirl I have to try to refrain from making snarky comment back sometimes because many of my viewers are youngsters and don't know better.

I have learned that most/many people do not look in the description box at all.

It is faster sometimes just to answer the questions, yes or no than to type, "look in the description box"

  • @yoyomax12 See now I would never have thought about perhaps ppl being young and realy not knowing. You really are a good and patient teacher Tammy. I guess sometimes I am not good at watching my own sarcasm and I should because I would never want to hurt anyones feelings.

  • You remind me so much of Sandra Lee's semi home cooking! =D

  • @msmandychy This is a good thing? lol

  • @yoyomax12 it's a wonderful thing! I love her!! and your work also of course =]

  • In my country, they have little bits and it's awesome. First time I saw them was this year but only because I was making those caramel apples. I may have to make these. I'm thinking of trying to bake with Bain. His mom used to love it :))

LOL @ the above comment about the HAVING to use nuts and your answer LOL LOL LOL

  • @silverscreamgrl lol! the recipe is HALF NUTS, there is only three ingredients in them for pete's sake.

    Little bits are caramels?

  • @yoyomax12 Sorry...I should have explained it better. They have these little drops of caramel in a big pkg. I will try to remember to show them to you tomorrow. I do have to saythat that is the ONLY reason the kids had caramel apples for Halloween. I don't have the patience to stand and unwrap little caramels.

  • Oh I am liking this...That is a great gift idea...I love caramel

    Mmmmm Mmmmmm good

    BIG HUGS

  • @PinkAddictive I answer this in the video and in the description box

  • @PinkAddictive Yes, you can walnuts would taste good!!

  • @PinkAddictive I say right in the video you can you whatever kind of nut you want.

    Thanks for watching

  • I could never make these, I'd eat all the caramels as I unwrapped them! They look yummy, though.

  • @NewBoi1980 I didn't show the caramels that didn't make it into the recipe, lol.

  • They look awesome you can send me some to taste test if you like. :D

  • @rach85256 lol!

  • Yummie indeed! What would you use if you couldn't get a hold of shortening?

  • @enjoydotcom I use some paraffin wax in my chocolate sometimes to make it easy to handles as well.

  • OMG That looks so GOOD!! :)

  • @alemap08 Thanks!

  • As usual, this looks fantastic. This looks easy enough that even I can do this. Can't wait to give this a try. Will be using milk chocolate chips since it is my favorite. Thanks for the recipe.

  • @MouseChirpy Milk chocolate would be just fine!

  • Those really looked wonderful....where was your dipper thingy you just bought or did you do this video before you bought it....lol

  • @wildheart5 They taste good too Barb, I'm glad I'm going to be giving them all away!

  • What I really like about these homemade turtles candy you could use dark chocolate instead (my favorite), usually the turtles chocolate candy sold in stores are made with milk chocolate. They look good :)

  • @ArgentineShamrock Dark chocolate is my favourite too

  • Tammy, I'm definitely trying these. What a perfect hostess gift :)

  • @feliciajuly These would be welcome at any party for sure!

  • wow these look so yummy.

  • @nadpip83 Thanks!

  • Do you HAVE to use nuts???

  • @cheese123ese Pretty much, yes

  • @cheese123ese I've done these with dried fruit once, sultanas and raisins. A bit too sweet though. Maybe a bit of coconut, Popped popcorn, Chocolate chips? Pumpkin or some other seeds like they have in snacks when you go camping would be interesting. Even those tiny marshmellows maybe? Or just double the amount of rice krispies, might work. :)

  • @SuperWahinetoa pop corn! awesome!

  • @cheese123ese you dont actually have to your could use something like crushed cookie

  • oh wow! making my mouth water they look so yummy

  • Oh yes these look great!

  • @twish1999 I'm glad I'm giving these away I think I would eat them all. They call to me everytime I look in the freezer

  • Hey where are your new dipping forks? Are these part of your Xmas baking repertoire? If so, how are you going to store them until the holidays? I want to make them but not too far in advance.....so let me know??? Thanks a bundle

  • @mukwah1111 I made these before I bought the tools! It would have been a lot easier with them! These are part of my Christmas baking stash. I'm storing them in the freezer until X-mas.

  • @yoyomax12 Cool ! I am going to make them too then. Dollar Store sells bags O caramels now....Kraft are too expensive. I'm sure they will be just as good. Pecans from the Bulk Barn. Thanks again

  • @mukwah1111 I saw the caramels at the dollar store after I made these for more than half the price! They are just as good. My pecans are also from the bulk barn.

Caramels are at the bulk barn too, but I'm not sure if they are cheaper than the dollar store ones.

  • OMG looks DELISH!!!

  • @H3ADY1313 Thanks Heather.

  • yum! my favorite

  • @redihpeach Mine too!

  • Thanks for another idea.:)

  • @noahsark1962 You are most welcome.
