  • bush mechanics

  • why you didint use oil flush so the new fresh oil wont contaminated by the old oil...couz if you just flush the old oil 20% of the old engine oil stay on the engine and when you put a fresh oil on it will be contaminated by the old ones so 3 to 4 weeks engine oil will be dirty again

  • Please do/find me a video on an R32 GTR, the oil filter is in the worst spot ive ever seen from any car :(

  • Do you have anything on R32 GT-R's?

  • Thanks man.. How often do you change spark plugs & fuel injectors?

  • Great video.. What spanner size do you use to remove the nut?

  • 14 metric i believe.

  • Use Valvoline 5W40 Full Synthetic (the silvery looking botle) I use The Valvoline XLD for the oil flush lol...i think its a bit too thick to use on a 33.... :S Then again thats for aged models and i run a R34 so the engine is a bit more fresh.

  • With the plugs....I dont have to check the gaps? Cos i know some of the old cars i had in the past, i had to make sure the gap is exact on each plug. But yeah thanks for the info bro. Much appreciated

  • I will be changing the oil, oil filter in a few weeks. I understand that I need to buy a synthetic oil. can someone recommend me which brand and wattage? What brand of spark plugs do I buy? I know i have to buy irridium sparks but not quite sure which brand. thanks

  • I was told brand does not really matter as long as you buy from a decent retail chain, so they don't supply cheap and nasty stuff. The top engine oil like mobile one is probably too thin for r33 as the engine is not in brand new cvondition. so you had better use thicker oil. I have replaced my spark plugs with 'titanium spark plugs' which is the one the best and will last for longer. I forgot what prand it was. I paid $25 each and I changed them all at once.

  • @xwroath0 im using castrol gtx 25w in mine

  • @xwroath0 you can use mobile 1 synthetic oil 15w-30w depending on your conditions

  • nice vid. next you should do the lsd and gearbox oil change tutorials too.

  • ok, mate. I will see what I can do. I have purchased a nismo 2 way LSD, waiting for it to arrive next week. My gearbox oil is due to change sometime in the next few months too.

  • brilliant - just what i needed. thanx.

  • you are welcome. you don't actully have to change the copper washer everytime you change oil. Feel free to look at other things on my R33. cheers

  • i gota admit, i am power hungry when it comes to these cars. i am considering upgrading either the injectors or the ecu. either way, its going to cost abit.

  • I think most skyline owners are power hungry. especially if you drive on the open road or high way alot. I am mostly in town, on tight hills or go for drift practise days on the track so the standard power is enough for me.

  • ok i have Godzilla's little brother in my pocession. As I mentioned earlier Im new to skylines. The car is mildly modified by the previous owner. Being a mature driver I try not to plant my foot down all the time. But it goes to show that when you're behind the wheel of a skyline, you dont have to prove anything at all for this car for it to be appreciated or to turn heads. Cos you know yourself you can pretty much outdo the car next to you. Now to get more power....where do I start? lol

  • usually ppl start with big intake air filter, 2.5 inch exost all the way. The next stage people go with front mount intercooler (approx 15 hp). After that it's turbo and ecu tuning on the dyno. But mate.. If I was you, I will keep it factory. I love factory but it's impossible to fine one un touched. I am not power hungry, I modity for handling. adjustble suspensions, wheels etc. If you check my other newer video, I have posted the progress of installing my KTS suspenion recently.

  • i placed a 3 inch full exhaust and placed a front mount racing intercooler. made a big difference. also replaced the shocks and springs. i have a cusco adjustable coilovers on mine now. gives better performance. i replaced the stock wastegate and got an hks instead and hks ssqv bov. you might think of having an electronic boost controller so you could play with it more. good stuff

  • usually goes - exhaust, cold air intake, FMIC, boost controller, S-AFC (or a full ECU like apexi powerfc) fuel pump and thats pretty much all the supporting mods before you start upgrading expensive things like turbo/injectors..

  • now why cant we post more educating videos about skylines like these rather than posting them being treated as whores lol. Im geting an R33 next week. Im a noobie in skyline. I have heard of a piggy back device that sits between the sensor and the ecu called mod chip which adds +15bhp. Correct me if im wrong but does anyone have these or does anyone recommend them at all?

  • yes, I was told HKS computer is one of the best. Maybe Nismo has one too. they will control your fuel and air which will give you more hp than that I belive. It's ususall;y intalled then dyno tuned to have the perfect setting for your purpose. Personally I am not power hungry, the factory spec is enough for me on the track, but I have other mods to improve handling. I have posted another video for height and damper adjusties installation recently.

  • hey i got a kinda dumb question... but i am looking to buy a 1991ish skyline gtst... and i cannot find on the net anywhere what kind of oil it needs (ex. 5w20,5w30,10w30 etc) if any1 can tell me i would appreciate it

  • 1991 is R32 not R33. They are diffeerent in many ways. It's an older car like mine so you rather use slightly thicker oil than thin oil. Thin oil is good for new engine. Thicker oil is not as good for performance especially when the engine is cold, but it's better old car as there are alot of wearing inside the engine. Any bigger professional car parts retail will be able to provide you with the right oil for your car. At least it works like that in NZ.

  • alright i will just go to a local garage and ask thank you for the info... the car i am looking at only has 54k on it though so i am hoping i will not encounter any "old engine problems":P

  • Very nice video. In future try recording the video and then sitting down with a microphone at your computer and dubbing over the audio so it's not so choppy. Ignore the idoits talking about the name of the parts being wrong - it is obvious what you're talking about and thats the main thing. On my car I had to put a screwdriver through the oilfilter to get it off as it wouldnt turn, not even with the tool I bought. If you have the same problem its worth trying

  • thanks, there is a few more things I have done to my car now. but I don't think I can do all of them as I was taught my a friend who is a mechanic by trade, I don't want him to loose customers just becasue I love sharing info with the public. I will try post more stuff up.

  • Nice man, I know people who take it to mechanics just to do this lol. What idiots. Im looking at buying a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T also.

  • Lol look at the negative feedback i get, just cause there too fucken lazy to work on there own car, Also i got my Skyline its a 1998 R33 M-spec.

  • some people just want to save time. besides change oil, oil filter etc. there is a few bits and pieces require for 6point check and stuff. I try to do my own car up because I love doing it. pride and joy comes from alot of time and work.

  • Yeah its for the love of your car.

  • nice video, i wish there were more skyline videos like this.

  • haha nut its a bolt / sump plug , also it is a oil sump not a tank ,
