  • I feel like Columbus when I hear this.

  • the way they played it here is so "flavorable" and exciting to let the audience hear.

  • What orchestra is playing here?

  • ok seriously. who is the freak that disliked this??? this song is amazing!!!

  • @maxiemira97 It's actually a piece, not a song.

  • One of my favourite symphonies.... My youth orchestra is playing this with the CPO! Thank you for uploading!

  • A magnificent piece of music.

  • Naturally, I am jelly of those who have played the original! I just finished a nerfed version and it cut away about 8 minutes of the piece :(

  • Played this with my youth orchestra

I play the viola and violin (not at the same time)

    Very good piece

  • I played the original version a few weeks ago; It was AMAZING!!! <3

  • Our orchestra might be playing this for state contest, I'm so excited!

  • I played this piece with a orchestra. Sadly it was an arrangement

  • My high school wind ensemble played this a whole step lower...in Bb...*twitches* I hate it when transcriptions are in the wrong key.

  • we played this adapted version in 7th grade..i listened to the recording of us and it was awfulll.....this is amazing!

  • my middle school orchestra is playing this , its awesome!!

  • @RKbassSOdrums Sorry to be a downer, but middle school? that scares me.

  • perfect

  • thanks for this it really comes in handy practicing for my audition when i hae this to play along with :)

  • great peice

  • theres a trick that tchaikovsky uses at the end there, at 3:05, he uses the same cadence as he does at the end of the piece. the beautiful tune comes in at 3:15, so at the end, you are expecting the tune, but the symphony finishes, so it leaves you thinking about that wonderful tune when you leave. i played this at junior camp 2010 when i was 12. i loved it!

  • Wonderful. I love the flutes and piccolos in this work as they are so prominently featured. Great piece of music by the master.

  • awesome piece

Playing the bass trombone in the youth orchestra I am in

  • My High School Band is playing this. Amazing song, except I wish we had a strings section so we could make it sound more like the original.

  • which orchestra is this??

  • We're playing an arrangement of this for my concert band at school.

...or at least, that's the plan.

By the end of class we're ALL singing the melody to this whether we have it in the song or not. xD

  • Me. too. it just gets stuck in your head and you can't get it out!

  • Excellent

  • woooooooooooooo go violins

  • This is simply marvelous. And just listen to that random 'chorale' that comes out of nowhere from 9:39 to 9:42. Brilliant! What an under appreciated Symphony.

  • @edcassells this movement is very simple, all one cadence, it's like he's eternally ending the movement for 11 minutes

  • Irving Berlin influence?

  • Cello is AWESOMEE!!!!

I'm in this random orchestra that plays like the real version of this and others, like the Elgar Concerto! ^^ and the Medelsohnn's Violin Concerto, (can't spell Medelssohn ;D)

Reply me if you play the cello, looking for the Saint-Saens cello concerto for download ^^

  • i do too!!! hahah and i'm playing the oboe solos =P ours isnt simplified tho...6 pages~730measures!! w00t

  • my symphonic band is playing this!!! ours is like, 6 pages...~730 measures...yay!

    <3 this song!!

  • im jealous of you

i wish i could play something this elegant!

  • i played this in my middle school too! its not simplified though, im in advanced :DD

  • i play the cello, it is a great instrument

  • @randomsoccerdorks17 strings are great

  • im playing this is orchestra. mine is simpliefied too.. i love playing this song!

  • so is mine!

  • Russian composers' music is so vivacious and imponent! And this is my favorite Tchainkovsky precisely because of this finale. Awesome!

  • I love this piece! Tchaikovsky's symphonies are all amazing! I'm going to see his sixth symphony at the Barbican Hall as a birthday present from my parents on Sunday. I am really looking forward to it! TCHAIKOVSKY SHALL LIVE FOR EVER!

  • That sounds great! :) I've heard every symphony he wrote in live-concerts here in Norrköping performed by SON :) The last symphony by Tchaikovsky they played was the great Manfred symphony :) It´s really an amazing piece! :D

  • @Stravinsky91 I played Manfred with my orchestra years ago, it's for me the greatest tchaïkovski piece with Francesca Da Rimini XD

  • @earthatic i thought this guy was dead? how can you still see him?

  • @kingofpoms69 just because he's dead doesn't mean you can't still go see his works performed by others XD

  • @VioLAPlaYer239 thats stupid, thats like buying a ticket for ABBA then goign and figure its a ABBA tribute band... sorry but thats just stupid :/

  • @kingofpoms69 maybe, but I'm glad I can still go hear music written by Tchailovsky and other composers despite the fact they're not around anymore
