I like storytime and the band very much, but It just disapointed me a bit..

I expected even more epicness this album, but storytime is even a small step back for me :(

well I the Islander is one of my favourite nightwish clips, i mean i like fantasy-like things more that thing that are more about down-to-earth-like. So i prefer Amaranth's and Islander's clips but anyway i think the fantasy in the album as the song represents it well, is going to be enough, anyway I love NW, and Storytime is a great song!

As for me this song is not bad, but in comparison with the greatest Nightwish songs like Astral Romance, Higher Hopes, Bless the Child, The Poet and Pendulum and others, music (lyrics in this song is very well) of this song is more primitive, simpler and not so emotional like in old songs. It's just become a pop-rock.

I'm a big fan of all Nightwish, old and new (to coin that terrible phrase), but Storytime has already stuck to me like no other song has in such a short space of time - if what some people have described as the worst song on the album can do that to me then I can't bloody wait to hear the rest of them - Imaginaerum is going to be one of Nightwishes best albums ever - I can feel it! <3

open you're mind a little bit and enjoy music for the sake of music. tuomas doesn't write metal, he writes cinematic/theatrical music that's what Dark passion play was and it's most likely what Imaginaerum and future nightwish releases will be as well :D Long live Tuomas!!

For example, from 4:00 the lead instrument is some kind of a bagpipe, that makes a sound similar to the ones used in modern pop, the hi-hat ostinato is in levare (every quarter from the second eighth note at the beginning of the beat), instead of the typical metal battere (every quarter from the first eighth), the tambourine...

Man, I understand that as a nightwish fan, you have to support nightwish in every case and to throw shit at pop and pepole who say nightwish is pop in any case, but if you listen to a modern pop song like bagpipes from baghdad, or protect your mind - or an early nightwish album if you prefer - you'll notice at least one synthetizer. Assuming you're not an idiot, you'll know that such an instrument can do a bagpipe-like sound, willn't you?

I may be a hater and an Old-NW fan, Storytime gives me interest in that new album. I didnt expect anything from DeepPassionPlay, and it was clearly a mediocre album, but this one should do pretty well, if it's the same level as NW was, years ago. I hope it will be (the upciming album) as good as this single :)
