As for comparing phones you can argue about the hardware as much as you like but its the rom that can change a full feel of a mobile (inc battery life) ,I'm running a s2 with cyanagen custom rom overclocked to 1.6ghz . Granted it can run warm when charging but when the s2 is that thin what do you expect. UNTIL YOU RUN A CUSTOM ROM WITH NO BLOATWARE YOU CANT BE SURE WHAT YOUR PHONE CAN ACTUALLY PROFORM LIKE :-)

I want to get this phone when my upgrade comes up. I plan to do more traveling over the next 2 years and I like that this is a world phone. I wish it didn't have sprint ID and all that other bloated crap on it though. If it had a physical keyboard it would be near perfect. If you want a real phone get the the Photon and if you want a mini tablet with a poor phone service get the epic touch 4g, the ET4G is a very nine android mini tablet but you are going to have missing calls and text messages and slow 3g, poor wifi and 4g signal. Nice screen but..........

Just because the gs2 has SUPER AMOL blahblah which is more contrast doesnt mean its a better picture..(2nd the build quality of the gs2 feels horrible compared to any phone, i wouldnt even use it as a paper weight, but then again it was only the fake phone on display. thats the kind of stupid statements some of you made)

my evo kicked the photons ass in a 4g speed test over the coarse of an hour in the city of boston where 4g signal is very strong. buyer beware photon sucks since then i purchased the galaxy s2 and im amazed by it.

I have spb 3d on my photon - I hate to say this - but it drains the battery.

I get about 150-250 calls a day and about 100 emails a day and the original UI lasted until about 2-3 pm before going to orange on the battery (less than 20%) and with spb shell as the UI I had to plug it in to my car charger at 9-10 am (I start my days at 6 am)

Just a thought for anyone that is using this phone very heavily.

@AestheticPerfection4 your right about the evo.. my friend works at sprint and he brought out the photon and my evo kicked its ass i couldnt believe that when we put our phones on 4g and did a speed test my evo was pulling down 6-7 mbps and photon 2-21/2 mbps this test was done repeatedly over the course of an hour in the city of boston where we have full 4g signal buyer beware the photon sucks.

@freddiems Add up all the things both phones have. and then when you see that the photon has more "PHONE" pros then then any other phones, then you will find yourself wrong. a phone is a phone. If you are basing all your phone decisions over the screen, go buy a IPAD2 and use it. @loganroy87 Do u had the SG2? If not u cant talk. The screens is better. It record in full HD not 720 like the Photon. The processor is slower(1ghz vs 1.2 ghz of teh GS2). The HSPA+ is @ 14.4 Mbit/s vs the GS2 21 Mbit/s. is heavier 5.6 oz vs the GS2 4.1 oz. VGA front camera vs 2.0 MP of the GS2. so in what is better than the GS2? BC u preffer a phone, it doesnt mean that is better than other. Check the different benchmark and the GS2 is way ahead than the Photon. Why is better?

@freddiems I know all the specs - they look great on paper, and I tested out the SG2 for a few hours (I know that does not mean much but...) It feels like a less build quality - I did not notice a huge difference in performance and the contrast on the photon's camera is much better. Just because something is 1080p does not mean it looks better. Sometimes going for pure numbers is not the way to go. Try it out and then tell me what you think for yourself?

Im talking about teb GS2 that we used in PR. Nt the one in ATT or Sprint or T-Mobile. The GS2 is faster, the screen is much better and the phone daily is much better. I got the GS2 of Claro PR and is much better than the Photon. I got this phone from the release about 4 months ago

I use a phone for a phone, make calls, emails, texts. you NEED cell reception if you want to accomplish these tasks. the Photon will always have better signal when next to the SG2, anywhere in the world, so yes it is a better phone. Is the SG2 a better multimedia electronic? yes, there is no argument that the screen is better, has a higher speed processor and records full HD. im arguing your statement "the GS2 is the best phone."

I got Claro of Puerto Rico and I always has better reception than my brother. my dad got Sprint too and he never has good signal, always dropping calls and not recieving calls. I never got issues with my GS2, and if you want only a phone and dont have all this features, dont buy a smartphone and get a cheap one. BC for making calls theres hundred out better than the Photon and the GS2

The specs are amazing but I chose not to get it because it actually felt cheap in the hand. I don't like samsungs build quality for some reason. I just got the photon on monday(could have got the epic touch) and am very happy with my decision. My friend has taken his epic touch back 3 times now because of problems.

You should also note that the S2 hasn't come out yet in the US and only speculation says that it is coming out by week 2 next month. My current phone is the I8910 Omnia HD by Samsung and after having it since it came out (EurAsia only) I have realized that no matter the specs of the phone Samsung puts out, their support is garbage.

@haiti1800 not better in what way the oversaturated screen or the low res screen? as for quadrant i get scores of 2900 & 3100 with a high res qHD screen & a low 1 ghz cpu straight out of the box, look at all the utube antutu benchmarks & see how a droid x2 with 512mb ram,qHD & froyo 2.2 out scores the 1.5ghz overclocked sg2's by a couple of hundred.even the galaxy R destroyed the exynos sg2 by 400 points & at 1GHZ! cmon. the screen is the only claim to fame & its thin.

@adib43029 its called "motorola applications interface" & its got some really good apps! the email client has all the features of gmails app even the download only inbox feature to save battery & all that but the U.I. is like the app called "enhanced amail" that costs $10 in app market. plus the gallery & all in one messaging is perfect. they have it set up in a way that 1 app does the job of 5 apps so you save memory & processing, theyre not perfect but its better than touchwiz & isnt overkill.
