eh? well, in india even collage grade can develop a cutting edge military equipment. for eg: search 'netra uav' in my channel. does ur RC plane have the top speed of 225 kmph with 1,800 kg(empty weight) + 500 kg of payload and fly at 35,000 ft? can it carry laser designators, infra red and night vision cameras and radar that can track upto 300 Km? and have endurance upto 16 hours? so take my advice kid, stop making your childish comparison.
people who criticize DRDO are basically fools and actually NOONE in Indian media is qualified enough to report on technology matters. For example, all IndiaTimes and NDTV reporters confuse a drone with aircraft and a anti-tank missile with Pinaka. LOL!!
If it takes so many years to make a mere UAV or MAV where all technology is readily available in market then how many years it will take to make A380or F35-JSF.
@utubekhiladi .....yaha like DHRUB heli ...from propulsion system to technology everything either copied or purchased from abroad and then assembled in India....christened a name and a different paint applied ..and called indigenous...carry on no problem...everyone from NAL,HAL to DRDO doing the same thing....and "self-reliance" asked some army personal who have witnessed t death of his friend from the crash of DHRUB-heli....one thing is good ...change of direction ..from manned to unmanned.
@subhendu55 JSF is crap. Even their partner nations are not buying it. How many years do you suppose it took the DRDO to make this one? It is not even one.
A Rutan Long EZ! I wonder how they shipped that to Bangalore?
Look at the You Tube video 'Long-EZ First Flight'.
Nice remote control system, that is where India most have did all the secret stuff. Unless they bought that from one of the toy companies. But they did get it to fly!! Jai Hind!
its very nice to see finally a Indian UAV taking off and landing like a conventional plane.i heard Rustom involves some private industries involvement,if thats true then more projects like this should be brought in.

@subhendu55 So you mean to say, 2000 deaths from imported Mig-21 are better than 1 death from Indian-made Dhruv? LOL!!

@stalkingalizee Even F-16 fell off runway and crashed during its initial flights. That's why its called TD. :)
