  • I think I will be as well buy an ear plugged every time I will be using this.

  • Hie all......i have a Nikon D5100 and 'm planning for a 70-300mm lens.......'m confused btwn Tamron and Sigma..........Does anyone have or used the same......please update which i should go for.........

  • @IrfanYusuf2000 dont buy it. i do not use it anymore. its not a good lens :(

  • @IrfanYusuf2000 As an alternative I suggest a cheap NIKKOR 70-300 4,5 - 5,6 G (not the VR).Cheap but not a junk at all: decent value for money, pretty fast focusing, lightweighted and you should easily get a good buy on the 2nd hand market.I'm happy with it (take a look at Ken Rockwell's review).

  • I have this lens also, but for Sony. I must say that AF is much slower, but i think it's caused by slow Sony AF.

  • @sasquie2

The Sony version don't have a motor, but is driven from the body itself.

  • Sir, does this lens fit canon 600d/eos t3i?

whats the major difference between a macro telephoto and normal telelphoto zoom lens sir?

  • this lens is a shit!!!!!

  • Sounds like a powerdrill. I would be embarest to use that along with other photographers.

  • @heestenhats You should be "embarrassed" about the fact that you're illiterate.

  • @rbhardw2 U should learn how to spell u communist.

  • @rbhardw2 You should learn how to spell ur communist

  • this is a crappy lens. it has no stabilisation and it is loud and feels cheap

  • That is fast for you ? That is slow as a snail to me.

    Superzooms will never work.

  • probably the most shit lens you can ever buy

  • بطيئة

  • WHat a fucked up sound does that makes

  • can i use this for e-420 from olympus¿?

  • do you think this lens would work for skateboarding? like is the auto focus fast enough?

    pleaase reply

  • Use manual focus for goodness sakes people :P

  • the front element is rotating =( hard to use cpl filters on it =(

  • Did you check the minimum focus distance before? Maybe you're asking your lense something that is not capable of doing.

  • getting one in a couple of days! :)

  • Sigma makes crap lenses...

  • @DeviantArtNY unless you have some sort of reasoning then dont bother post. you probably think this because a sigma is for the entusiats that dont want to spend over a thousand dollers on each lens that they buy

  • @k2kona Nope just a fact...there for people who don't know any better but that's ok...live and learn...

  • That's loud and not to mention slow lol.

  • i have just bought this lense the APO sigma 70-300 and i cant get it to auto focus on it, am i doing something wrong? i have it mounted on the nikon D5000;

    thanks

  • @andyrands There is a switch on the lens, which control focus. Change it form Manual to Automatic and it will work. If its not there must be some problem with the connectors of your lens.

  • @andyrands It could also be in your camera settings that you have it on manual focus, if Nietypowy33's answer doesn't work you maybe wanna try reading your manual and look up manual/auto focus, good luck! :)

  • @andyrands if the lense doesn't have an autofocus motor you have to focus manually on your nikon d5000

  • I know what lens I am avoiding. I can't stand lenses that twist the barrel to focus, it messes up filter settings. (mainly polarizer)

  • I bet you will get much sharper sound of the AF than sharper image. Focusing is slow.

  • what does all come in the box of the lens?

  • @jellevdsteeg Lens, protection case, lens shade, warranty and manual :)

  • zomg

  • @akusygbiela

it is a tele macro lens not a close up macro lens(minimum focus distance is around 100cm even though i found it sigma site as 150cm) . in the video it is not able to focus since subject is too close that is why lens is going back and forth. i have this lens and it suck in auto focus. bye the way nobody uses auto focus for macro shots.

  • You have a d40? so it does auto focus on the D40?

  • @physco479

if u get a nikon mount lens it fits for almost all the nikon cameras.

it is motorized lens . so it will auto-focus on a d3000

  • damn that thing is huge

  • why is this so loud. on the k20d its so quiet.

  • for the money this lens is very good.

  • annoy sound during focusing process

  • oh btw, it was on the shelf for like 4 years, so I dismantled it and made it into a tool cup and microphone holder! now its useful again! yay!

  • If you are on a tight budget and want a good lens quality... buy this it has APO DG and MACRO...and I just bought one few days ago... but if you have lots of money to spend go buy F 2.8 70-300mm Nikkor or Cannon Lens.... :))

  • wtf is that! and i was gona get one =|!

  • should i get this lens or the tamron70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF, which ones better someone tell me plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

  • u guys think i should get this ?

or the canon 75-300mm III USM ?

  • canon it has USM you almost cannot hear the motor

  • ohh...but i really dont care about the focusing noise...

i care about is the quality..

is the image quality of this lens sharper ??

    thx anyways..

  • It's not a video camera, why would u care if it;s nosiey

  • Is there much difference with Canon 70-300mm? Many thanks

  • what do you mean? difference from a 18-55mm? yes theres a big difference

  • well its not bad

  • That noise annoys the shite out of me!

  • Which Camera do you use?

Is it good to buy this for the Nikon D3000?

  • If you need cheao lens, yes is it. It have not a VR but like i said its cheap but good ^^

  • you should of went for the sigma 28-300 it is a really good fast and sharp lens

  • gahh, I have that lens too, but I dont use it anylonger, its sooo sloooow! and loud! and too soft photos from it!

Probably the crappiest shit lens ever! xD I know many who bought it that just kept it on the shelf forever.

  • @faloc Think that you are right.Better the Tamron 70-300.

  • @faloc No it probably isn't, the tamron equivalent takes about twice as long to focus, must have taken about 4 or 5 seconds to go from close focus to infinity...

    you were wrong.

  • @faloc Are you serious? I've heard so many good things about this lens. I guess it's excellent for amateurs

  • Amen to that akusygbiela! hahaha

  • you're both stupid, he's making it go to maximum focus to minimum to show the speed.

  • how much is this lens?

  • @hybriddesignz08 i saw it here in japan. costs 25,200yen

  • you are focusing on an object that is too close to the lens stupid.. i guess it should be minimum about half a meter for this lens to focus on something..

  • i actually thinking of bying this one ;)

and it had a pretty good speed, but does it "fokus at the thing" fast too if you know what i mean . x)

like it sticks on the closest thing and hold the focus there if you dont move the camera ? :)

sorry for my bad english ^^
