The Lebanese nationality is just proof of who I am. If Lebanon had a economic boom going on, I'm sure the government would take things into consideration for foreigners.
hey Isabbagh, r u stupid or what?? who told u that this is the problem?? r u educated by the way?? this is the most stupid reeason that i ve ever heard. how old r u?? first of all most leb immigrants left lebanon coz of economical reasosn or the war. as for the nationality, we r not talking here abut why or what, its a right, just like the right to VOTE, WORK, DRIVE, ETC... Lebanese women & men makes the LEB comunity, so it should be a right for both equally..
It has nothing to do with being stupid and what your saying is not fully true. Do you know how many palestinian refugees are living in Lebanon right now? This is not including the number of syrians who are also there. The government has even mentioned on several occasions that if the government was to grant foreign men citizenship, the population would be increased by thousands within the first year alone. I've lived in Lebanon and I've in Canada. My parents left Lebanon 30 years ago
Right now the young generation who are currently in Lebanon are obtaining their education and can't find any type of employment over there unless they choose to join the Military or the Police. The majority of them apply for employment in other arab countries or to north america. Secondly, the war is not the only reason why people immigrated. That is part of the reason but at the same time you tell me someone right now who attend an educational institution in Lebanon and is able to get hired
When you look at Lebanon as a whole, countries like the US, Canada and Austrailia is what made Lebanon, you tell me one family in Lebanon that doesn't have someone overseas. This has absolutely nothing with being able to drive or vote. Finally when you say work, there is no work in Lebanon. That is what Im relating my point to. Ive lived in Lebanon for 4 years and having the Lebanese Nationality means absolutely nothing to me by all means since I can't move to there to make money.
The problem in Lebanon with granting citizenship to foreign husbands of lebanese women is where Lebanon is a very small country and doesn't have enough jobs and housing to give to their own people, why would they want to give it to someone else. Because of this problem most Lebanese people live outside Lebanon. If you want to stay lebanese and be free of any problems then you should marry a lebanese man, if your going to marry someone else, then you should choose to live in his country.
