Must be something wrong with your 406; one of ours reached 217 very easily; as you can see on the clips here.....

Are you using best oil? Castrol Edge 0 - 30, and change it every 9000 km, best investment your engine...

nothing wrong with this car all you have to do is tune the car well and re-run this test! sure you'll get the best!

My 1998 406 can easily do 150 mph, there is something wrong with your car.

my old 406 was a 1.8 16v an i used to hit the rev limiter in 5th gear at 148mph ex cop car, my new 406 is hdi an a pile of crap compared to the old model

I don't know what's wrong with your peugeot but I have 406 1.8 16v too and I had reached max speed over 220 km/h :)

@saris1990 Try seeing how accurate your speedo is with a gps at that speed. 220 sounds like a lot with just 112 hp. I´ve owned a 2,2 160hp which could reach 225-230 kmh (gps). Currently I drive a 3 litre V6, this will go to about 245-250 kmh (gps).

Nice...I also have a 406 1.8 16V however i never got it passed 195kmh...how much do you weigh? :)) do you have any changes made to boost the performance?

Well.. I weigh in at about 80 kgs :) I haven't modified the cars engine. Its a stock 1.8 16V. Maybe it has more than the official 112 hp. It's also pretty quick to 100 km/h taking about 10 secs, where the official time is 12,5 secs.
