@jmoraleslol. Question. Are you using DSI XL or are you using DS Lite? :3 Because the Nintendo Company told me DS games are not compatible with DSI wifi. The only way to change that, is if you change your settings to WEP security; or take your wifi off security. Which is highly not recommended because WEP is a weak security. I had the same problems.
