  • smextybone: overpopulation is the #1 cause of global warming, so it is actually what will make the human race nothing. safe sex with birth control is the best option.

  • what's the point of this lecture in front of an audience who already disagree with abstinence. It's like the lectures by evangelicals to christian students promoting abstinence. Completely pointless, since such lectures only draw people who already agree with the subject matter. We need discussions with different minded people- no point preaching to your own community what they already agree with

  • Buy the way, i'm the same guy cantbefooled

and whotrickedyou, see i didn't trick you, lol.

  • See children, this is why you need me here, with the truth. I've noticed not once was any disclaimer about potential legal consequences our unthinking teenage boy could face. (See the videos in my log). The one way message is just "get some" without parameters. Our teenage boys don't know certain "legal" parameters to certain actions. Not once, was this said here. I can't explain it all here, but you'll get the idea from the videos. Don't you wish you had a username like mine?
  • The reason people practice voyerism is because they're immature brats lol. That's the bottom line. Some are 80 years old they haven't matured out of it, yet. I know, they want to feel good so they start looking at others to copy what they're doing and so they can get some new idea? This thinking is unprofessional. I tell guys, I know women are pretty i'm no fool, I like women too. But the women I like can't be giving herself to derelicts. You Tube, Roofus Champion.

  • I'm glad didn't get involved during my teen years at all. I suspected someone was tricking me at the time. Years later I found out about the 100,000 cost of child support and a menu of STDs. See a grown man cry, because his paycheck was cut down to 99.80 a week take home by the courts, because of child support on my link. Hmmm, I noticed the crowd promoting promiscuity “never” ADDS that part when making safe sex sales pitches. So now you found out, who tricked you.

  • Think i'll allow the movies, culture or crowd to trick or deceive me? How about you? Who is deceiving or tricking you? Is it the movies, music, friends, sleaze sites (the leaders of lewdness websites) a boy fiend? Ladies, the truth is, if you ever become the "victim" of a life long, no cure - STD was the frog worth it? Or should you wait to marry that special dream prince charming? (Here's a hint, skip the frog, lol).

  • A long story short, I would believe all lies

but that's impossible now because of my

username. Sorry children, but my intellect

is superior to the deception, hence my

    username. ( Don't cry, lol ).

  • bla blah blah

  • Someone replied to me that "thats a lie. a woman who was a virgin got an STD and she didnt have any oral sex . its not 100 %." Well thats' not true because even if you get a disease that is sometimes transmitted through sex. But you can't be transmitted a disease sexually if you dont' have sex. ;)

  • this is what i think: if you want to have sex go ahead but make sure that you are safe.if you want a STD go ahead but in most cases you wont know that you have one and you will spread it. so basicely USE A CONDOM!

  • @anitakitkat Wrong. Most people who have STD's or aids don't know they have it until years later. But they can still pass it on unknowingly. There are symptoms, but most people think of the symptoms as something else. Like a cold or a flu or a simple yeast infection, when in reality it's way worst.

If you had sex and unsure of your partner's history then you SHOULD get tested because chances are, you probably have a disease.

  • Yeah this hole thing is just a money making thing, "pack of 25 pledge cards $5". These kids are been brain washed using scare tactics.

  • This is ridiculous and not worth the time. Why not compare the consequences of abstinence to those of premarital sex? Make up your own mind.

  • if your not married quit having sex!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Quit being an ancient crone. It's the damn 21st century.

  • i think that abstenance is a choice, which can only come from good sexual education

  • okay, okay everyone, calm down. you can all stop being pissed off and threatening others with your comments. there's nothing wrong with abstinence, just like there's nothing wrong with safely engaging in sex. this woman did an awkward job of explaining that the government is trying to promote a certain religious viewpoint all across the country while denying correct sex ed to teens. that's all..

  • Excuse me, but teens have heard nothing but sex education for the past 20 plus years!!

  • O rly? Where then? :/

  • this lady is completely nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How?

  • Comment removed

  • i agree. WHY does there have to be religion??!! I don't need a HUMAN to tell me how to live. I figure if your a good person, then what the hell. ya know

  • AeonMobile, and nobody should tell them to have sex!

  • and this is y kids r having kids they cant afford or dont want...my sister has 3 kids by 3 different men and i have to pretty much raise them!! im a 14 year old with more responsability then most older teens...

  • my friend is going to have sex and he's only 13!!!! turning 14 next year! =O

  • Power to him!

  • yea, n when he knocks some girl up its not him that pays...he walks away...the girls the one who has to carry and deliver a baby n then try to figure out a way to support it for the next 18 years!! or give it away or maybe just kill it, whatever right?

  • @TheAlmightyC And that is a good thing how??

  • Also she points out that abstinence in place of proper sex-ed is failing the youth of the country, resulting in the highest rate of teen/underage pregnancy in the world - especially Texas, one of the most right-wing conservative states. Also, that not teaching the real facts about sexual reproduction is causing many young people to rely on information passed onto them by friends who themselves are misinformed.

  • No, actually it is you who missed the real point.

You only cited two areas of her presentation: promotion of religion, and actual effectiveness. In addition to her numerous sideways jabs at abstinent people all the way through, I don't see how you can ignore the "Midwest Teen Sex Show" toward the end, which she endorses. Are you going to try and tell me that isn't designed to persecute those who choose to abstain? How would an impressionable teen feel after THAT kind of "education"?

  • Her "sideways jabs" at abstinent people were mostly geared towards the people promoting abstinence-only education in place of proper sex-ed. Consider, also, that proper sex-ed would also cover abstinence.

That show isn't designed to persecute those who choose to abstain, it's designed to: "Midwest Teen Sex Show is here to provide sex information in a clear and entertaining way."

    Taken from their own website.

It is extremely cynical about abstinence, but not designed to persecute them.

  • Nah, I'm not buying that.

Believe me, I would really like for what you are suggesting to be true, that her criticisms are only about educational prescription and not anyone's prudent lifestyle, but her implicit arguments and demonstrations tell a different story.

Same with the Midwest Teen Sex Show... Even if there's no outright criticism of abstinence or those who practice it, it's that cynicism itself which hosts an atmosphere of persecution.

I'm just calling it like I see it.

  • randommagnum - I agree with you!

  • its the innocent babys born to teen moms, unwanted, that suffer, but they dont count do they? everyone has rights but them, huh?

  • Of course they don't have rights. Are they citizens? According to the legal system they don't even exist.

  • You've all missed the point.

She was illuminating the fact that the Abstinence funding program initiated by the US Govt under Bush was a front to promote religious teaching in their public schools. Which, by the way are required under their law/constitution to be secular in nature.

The numerous religious organisations/ties to organisations she mentions should be enough to highlight this.

  • I've heard arguments against abstinence-only education, and I'm not going to say that there isn't that sides to the story since we don't all share the same religious beliefs...

But to actually discourage abstinence itself, and persecute those who do go that route is just plain jerky. If I would've had to guess where such ideas would've originated from, San Francisco would've been at the top of the list. Surprise, surprise.

  • Her list of achievments and accomplishments and where she comes from tells me everything about her. She is as far left as anyone could be. At least the title isn't decieving. The way she mocks abstinence is not appropriate as a professor or teacher. She needs to be objective and present her stuff in an objective and reasonable manner

  • Is this objective a enough, it dosent work!!!!

Not even for kids of these fucking fundamentalists, the vice presidents daughter is pregnant.

So tell me jackass how abstinence is going to work on normal kids when it dosent even work on the kids to the insane people that supports it. Hypocrisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abstinence is built on lies and is going to kill millions of people in Africa.

  • No, it doesn't work for you. It is an option that needs to be taught, in a positive way. The fact that some people still do it doens't prove that it doesn't work, many people abstain til marriage, so it does work. and millions of people in africa die because they can't keep it in their pants, and aids runs rampid there. Abstinence is a good, pure thing. I am not being rude or fundamentalist.

  • "maybe 'its' is a noun??"......

no, you morally lost, factually confused, stuck up, ignorant, conceded, politically stupid, monetarily unfamiliar, grammatically uneducated, wishfully thinking, gullible when convenient, unjustifiably insulting, sub-par researching advocate of porn and insincere sex

  • Boring!!! This lady is a idiot. Instead of dealing the real issue of sex, she talks about how much she hates Bush.

  • Gee, I wonder what her economic interests may be. She writes books about sexuality promoting it...which means that if you have sex and want advice you'll buy her book. A sexologist? Talking about sex? Promoting it? Really? I cannot believe it, who'd say she would!!! It's like a chocolate salesman talking about the benefits of cacao. Come on!! Besides, as many others have pointed out, she missed information and/or skip it.

Yeah, I can see why I should listen to her on sexual conduct.

  • I was exactly the same way, and I can't stand the way kids are blatantly lied to in school about these things and most parents don't step in to straighten them out about it either. I just hope more kids will do what I did and look it up on the internet!

  • It is the parents job to educate their children about contraceptives not the health educators. Abstinence education programs do give accurate information regarding contraceptives and their failure rates.

  • Actually faulty or incomplete sex education is considered a public health risk, so it is well within the government's pervue to teach proper sex education classes, and that includes accurate information about contraceptives and their proper usage. The problem lies with abstinence only sex education, which has been proven to only make things worse.

  • Additionally she neglected to include information about Planned Parenthood's endorsement of abstinence as the healthiest choice for teens. The CDC states,"The surest way to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases is to abstain from sexual intercourse, or to be in a long-term mutually monogamous relationship with a partner who has been tested and you know is uninfected...no protective method is 100 percent effective, and condom use cannot guarantee absolute protection against any STD."

  • This video is highly offensive and full of flaws! Teens who are being abstinent are making good choices for themselves and should not be put down because of their decisions. Violet Blue should sit through an Abstinence class! She mentioned the "ABC strategy" but failed to mention what "C" stands for, which is Condoms!

  • i would never be able 2 do that

  • anyone who says abstinance doesn't work is retarded. it's simple, don't have sex, i don't get the problem.

  • abstinence is for losers, seriously... how can any sane person say no to sex?

  • the same way sane people say no to heroin

  • lol are you comparing sex to heroin?

  • thats exactly what i'm doing.

  • You just are the average over-masturbating person.

  • Comparing sex to heroin is like comparing unicorns and puppies to nuclear waste.

  • Well, sex can be addictive.

  • of caourse, ur junk tingles and it feels good so of coarse ur gonna like it if it feels good

  • Well, I consider myself sane and I'm saving myself for marriage. I beieve in abstinence and Im not a loser!!! People who won't say no to sex, it's a sign of immaturity and a lack of self-control.

  • whatever, you probably never had a chance to get laid.

  • Waiting until marriage is as dumb as waiting until you get your period to cut your hair for the 1st time or waiting until you're 32 yr old to play videogames for the 1st time. Marriage does nothing for sex, sex is no different inside or outsude of marriage. Saying yes to sex are none of those signs unless you have unprotected sex & never gave a real thought in your decision. If you use protection & thought about your decision concerning the circumstances, having sex is a sign of maturity.

  • Waiting until marriage is NOT dumb. It's realistic for me because I'm living proof that anyone can abstain from sex. Anyone can have sex, but it takes a mature person with character and self-control to wait and abstain. At least when I do meet Mr. Right, I won't have to tell him all the sexual partners I had because I will have none!!!

  • Yes it is, there is no point to it. Marriage doesn't prevent unwanted pregnancy, STIs, nor cheating. Anyone can abstain, but not everyone can, will, or wants to. No, it's takes a person w/ paranoia & irrational beliefs. Character of arrogance, it seems. Abstinence is no better than having sex outside of marriage & it is not something to feel more superior than others for. Good for you, I personally perfer someone who has experience.

  • Here is why abstinence is dumb. You're taking risks that your partner can't sexually satisfy you, he has a creepy fetish (think scat), he finds out later that he's gay after sex, you find out he doesn't have a penis, etc. & in vise versa. If a romantic relationship is the reason for marriage & you don't want an asexual marriage, you should know everything about him, encluding sex since it is one of the main factors for healthy adult relationships.

  • Abstinence also encourages marrying young which is a flip of a coin for divorce. You should have experience in relationships & sex to find out the real difference between lusty sex & making love. You are more encouraged to marry someone when the prize is sex. You don't want to be confused w/ what your actual motive is for marrying the guy even though you think you're in love w/ him which may very well be just a crush or limerence.

  • @kiwisunshine5233 Circumstances like that are rare. Waiting for marriage may not be exactly what's best but definitely just getting your partnered tested for all the diseases and having safe sex should be okay.

But if you're like in middle school/high school and having sex then KNOCK IT OFF. THAT'S JUST STUPID.

  • It's great if you want to wait, more power to you! I know a lot of people who wouldn't have that ability because they don't intend to get married for a while.

But you know what isn't great? Immediately making the assumption that anyone who is having premarital sex is INFERIOR TO YOU.

That, my friend, is a sign of immaturity on YOUR part.

  • Calling someone immature is the EXACT SAME THING as assuming someone is INFERIOR.

    Contradictory logic my friend.

We all believe some behaviors are inferior to others. Don't pretend you don't either.

  • @leaderOFlosers A lot of people can say no. Wtf is YOUR problem. I can and HAVE said no, my friends can and HAVE said no. You're obviously an advid porn user who can't seem to control himself.

    Jeez.

  • @smexytbone

people over think sex... Its nothing special that should be shared with a wife/husband... Its just sex, the very idea of marriage goes against human nature.

  • @leaderOFlosers The very idea of marriage? So you're against marriage too? How idiotic...

It is something special. We're not ANIMALS that just fuck whenever we feel like. We have brains, emotions and hearts. It's not something you can just throw around.

  • @smexytbone

We are animals , we're just more evolved.

  • @leaderOFlosers Exactly. So we have the ability to be able to control our actions using our brain.

  • but why would anybody say no to sex? it doesnt make sense.

  • b/c they want to be pure for marriage like me. i'm a virgin and i want to marry a virgin. if they already had sex then someone else got to them. no point in marrying them.

  • well, have fun meeting another boring person like yourself.

  • thank you i much rather be boring than to have veneral diseases.

  • you're just a prude.

  • i have to be in the kind of world that we live in.

  • You are just a big asian stereotype.

  • when someone says youre prude, that must mean youre doing something right.

  • @leaderOFlosers What is your problem? If that "asian" person wants to wait until marriage then let him. YOU'LL be more at risk for having STD's and AIDS than him. Good luck with Gonorrhea.

  • @smexytbone

I've been with the same girl for 10 years... i think im safe.

  • @leaderOFlosers Well that's better. The way you presented yourself it sounded like you were sleeping with a new chick every week. :/

  • @asianpersuasion08 That's a fine decision of you want to.

  • @smexytbone its a fine decision 4 everyone!!!!

  • It does fail. People get caught up in the heat of the moment and were told that condoms don't work, so they don't use them. THAT'S how a lot of people get pregnant/STI's.

It's not as simple as not having sex. I could imagine that if a person wanted to be abstinent, they would have to avoid many "compromising" situations with the opposite (same?) sex, not to mention channel their sex drives into other activities. Sexuality is natural, so that would be really tough to do.

  • my god im 11 and they actually wear those belts O.O

  • I don't like the trend of gov money going to fund Christian(or anti-Christian) organizations but she's very wrong. She wrongly characterizes the CDC and NIAID; CDC doesn't HAVE 14,000 employees in 40 countries around the world; it contracts out its research, per its website it has "14,000 separate grant and contract actions"; the NIAID does similar contract research in many countries; she shamefully suggests NIAID is not funding research with its increased funding. The waffle analogy is good!

  • She's overreliant on her own research and it is largely untested-she showed a very peripheral knowledge of what she's attacking. She insists she couldn't have made a mistake re NAIAD funding(she actually quoted NIH figures, not NAIAD). She says an email reply to her is "screaming Ultra" because it is in caps, but actually ULTRA is an acronym, so she didn't even know that essential information about what she criticizes. She suggests one funding recipient(Healthy Futures) is representative of all.

  • It's good that she offers (her) facts, but it'd be best to have a learned devil's advocate keeping her in check. There's a lot wrong here...

Does she mention the sexual satisfaction of married people who have not had sex before marriage...I believe studies say it's the highest. She mentions the funding of crisis pregnancy centers that encourage adoption, but fails to mention the percentage of Planned Parenthood referrals to abortion(98%!). She opens with incorrect NAIAD funding and is caught.

  • the VERY last part of this vidio was true, or 1 comment of it was...if ur not haveing sex, more guys want u...and they respect u...and they want u for life! what guy wants a girl whos been with 10 different guys? but as far as the "sex takes practice" thing, when ur married ull have ur whole life. if u say what guy wants to marry a girl whos not experienced? the same guy who wants to have sex outside of marriage with a girl whos not experienced, DUH!! IDIOT!!!!

  • you are a piece of human waste. period.

  • not having sex to avoid getting STD/STI/knocked up, is like staying home all day and night to avoid getting hit by a car. abstinence only is nothing more then religious twats forcing their bullshit AKA religion on others

  • Not riding in a car is a 100% effective way to not get killed in a car crash. Wearing your seatbelt could save 50% of the lives of people that are killed in car crashes if they would have been wearing them. Would you JUST teach people about the safety of traveling on foot, or would you teach them about seat belts in case they ever did end up in a car? Abstinence-ONLY education is a waste of money and is ineffective.

  • Anyone who has not been in an abstinence education class doesn't know what they are talking about.

  • @jgoemat what if a drunk guy crashed through your home, or you're walking alongside the road and someone crashes into you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Konform2zoidberg Sorry, I guess abstinence isn't a100% effective way not to get pregnant either because you could get raped.

  • Yes, the hypothesis of abstinence is 100% safe, but has no real efficacy since it is battling against our much stronger and evolved instincts to mate, where it looses every time. The solution to this problem is to optimize: simultaneously maximize potential coitus and minimize spread of disease. All other doctrine is irrelevant next to this directive.

  • Part 01 - Not true. What seperates human beings from the other animals is our ability to subjugate our instincts in all other ways. For example, the nature of any animal or organism is to do whatever is best for me and mine at all times. If we only operated by our instincts or had to giv into them and can't resist them. then there'd be no unselfish, altruistic, or sacrifical people.

  • Part 02 - That's just one of the MANY examples of how humans can go about NOT succuming to our instincts. So you can use abstinence as 100% STD and pregnancy prevention.

  • thats a lie. a woman who was a virgin got an STD and she didnt have any oral sex . its not 100 %

  • uh yes you can. it is still a disease. an std no matter what. eating your ordinary soup at a restaurant where i guy came in will give you an STD without having sex. you piece of infectous human waste

  • a kid at my school got herpies from the mats in the gym so your right

  • @GlitterSniffer171 Then that woman must be lying. She must have done something. You can get it from oral, anal or regular sex. I hate how people think that if they do other things than just straight "sex" then they can't get STD's. Bullcrap.

  • We still have instinct. Fear, Trust, Anger, half of our emotions are INSTINCT.

    Nothing can completely subdue instinct.

  • No you cannot subdue instinct completely.. but you CAN subdue your instinctive BEHAVIORS jsut as with any non-instinctive behavior, you can CHOSE not to act upon it. The more instinctive a behavior, the harder it is to resist, but can still be done. For example breathing is an instinct yet you can hold your breath. The urge to mate is instinctive, but you can chose when and where to have sex, or not to have it youre' nto BOUND by that instinctive desire.

  • @teninchSTC And what seperates human beings from animals is that we don't do sex just to reproduce ourselves! An animal don't do sex because it likes it but human does!An animal don't feel pleasure!

Oh,and I am french and in France, it will be ridiculous to do abstinence-only education! It seems such a stupid thing!I think Abstinence only is a dangerous policy!

  • People are anti-abstinence because it doesn't WORK!

What you are doing is telling teens, who are in fuck-the-aughtority mode in the first place, that they shouldn't have sex.

Also sex-ed is not telling teenagers to "go have sex," the hormones coursing in their veins are doing that just fine on their own. As statistics have shown.

What sex-ed says, "if you are going to have sex, you should for your own good think of these things first"...

  • How cute I'm getting emotionnal cause that's the first time I see a virgin on youtube.

  • Abstinence is so screwed. If the government spent the money it does on abstinence on teaching people about the use of condoms and safe sex, we would be going much better. And btw, abstinance pledges don't work. Several credited studies show that people who take pledges are just as likely to still have sex. This is just stupid religious dogma again taking over people's lives. It is total bull crud.

  • I'm a believer in abstinence and all but it didn't work for me i think the idea of it is good. but ppl just have to accept its not gonna work for evry1 i'm from the UK and i think that program is f'd up i meen seriously what is up with america. There has to be a balance because ppl do what they want not evr1 is going to conform my church gives better sex ed than this abstinence only crap. i feel really sorry for those kids learning it in that way no wonder ppl think its stupid.

  • I love violet blue. she's awesome.

this was a really interesting talk.

  • Open your mind! You sound like an extremist. We live in a democracy. The with us or against us days are almost over come the fall, so then you will have another heard to follow. ONE OF PEACE, TOLERANCE, AND LIBERTY.

  • lancstony: That is rather Christian of you to say

  • It is not Christian it is nazi. A true Christian would express compation poor people sick of AIDS. Also kids have AIDS.

  • did you know the bible doesnt actually say sex before marrige is imorral. read the whole thing and tell me if im wrong. im not, but you can read it anyway to try and prove me wrong.

    ps. u dickhed

  • Hey lancstony, the only way sex is immoral is when it is forced i.e. rape or when you're being dishonest such as cheating or saying you love someone when you don't. Consented and honest sex amoung people causes no relative harm so it should be ethical and nothing to give a fuck about. FYI- AIDs can spred without sexual contact.

  • Hilarious. If hell exists, which i seriously doubt (as does anyone with a brain, the day when religion finally disappears can't come soon enough for me...)then u will be there my friend. If that's the case then i look forward to a rational discussion. Oh, i forget, you're religious. No rational discussion then.

  • I hope that a junkie sticks a fresh HIV laden needle into you and you get AIDS...

  • That's a very awful way to think.

There is nothing wrong with having sex. People need to have sex or else the population on this earth will be nothing. It's a necessary tool.

The point is to use your sexuality responsibly.

  • @smexytbone i think the population needs to slow down. the less people the better. so i discourage sex. lol

  • @Tokyodaimound 2 years later and I have to agree. :|

Less people need to be having sex or at least use damn birth control.

Nature is getting destroyed because there is so many people.

  • This is outrageous! They're essentially spreading ignorance in public schools using shame as tool.

  • Yes and it's very hard for teachers who try and give any meaningful sex advice that is not mandatory, not in the curriculum; they don't get any recognition for doing so and they risk losing their jobs because of vigilant anti-sex/pro-abstinence activist parents. Not to mention we'd almost need a whole credited high school class on sexuality with qualified teachers, or at the very least have minimum requirements for who can be allowed to teach sex ed; some teachers are as clueless as students

  • Some of the stuff that goes on in America really boggles my mind. What's wrong with your government? Seriously, this is screwy. However many millions/billions of dollars on pushing a faith based agenda when America is however many millions/billions of dollards in national debt from financing the War on 'Terror'? What the hell?

Great video. There needs to be more stuff like this.

  • It's because a large majority of people have religion on the brain. It's worse then the problem with drugs.

  • which types of drugs? ours or thiers?

  • Also that the government is causing much more problems with the probition of drugs than they are with helping society and drug addicts.

  • I wonder if the American people would be as accepting of the "War on Drugs" if it was called by the correct term, which is "Prohibition of Drug". We all know how successful Prohibition was the first time, and we know how successful it's been the second time around. When will people learn that telling people what they can and can't do to their own bodies in a free country DOES NOT WORK. I'm not endorsing destructive drugs as being a good idea, but, still, if you want to destroy your own body...

  • Violet Blue, you're my hero.

  • Oh god, I got that same pledge card in high school. "Sexual Purity"? "Risk elimination"? WTF, America?

  • Shame the U.S. is forcing poor countries to adopt ABC sex ed by threatening to withdraw financial "aid". Sex workers have had their supplies of condoms from health/humanitarian organizations dwindle because of this. Let's not forget the Catholic Church in Africa, and birth control organizations that would rather sterilize people than give condoms (because we're overpopulated apparently). All this happens because they're 3rd world

I vote we elect Violet Blue tsar of Chastity Belts and Butt Plugs

  • Siliness!

  • Violet Blue is just pure awesomeness.

  • Agreed she is teh l33t

  • That lady should have a YouTube channel to promote this important topic.
