  • Stop inspiring people to do dumb shit!!!

  • @NoobDukem Alot of people who watch this video think it's fake and I have to educate them. I think that should be the greater concern, but you're free to think it's dumb if you want, and I'm free to make all the dumb videos I want. If you can make a better video, please do.

  • how???is there anyone can tell me the principle?

  • You're like dumbledore (and also ron)

  • how long does it stay off for?

  • AHHHH so now we know how Dumbledore's deluminator works!

  • tried my 90mW 405 and it's no go.

Found out that, here, the lamps don't have sensors :))

  • can you do it with a 5mw green laser?

  • i try doing this and i cant :( and i use a red laser pointer

  • @MsZombiedarkness If your batteries are too low it won't be bright enough to do it. I have the same problem when the batteries lose some power. :)

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel but its bran new.

  • @MsZombiedarkness Hmmm, try it on a different one if you can. The sensor on that particular light might be dirty or it's not sensitive enough for it to work.

  • @MsZombiedarkness cuz ur laser is weak.. u probably have a 5 mW, get urself a 50 mW. it is dangerous for the eyes though. and it can pop black balloons.

  • in germany we kick them out...

  • Damn, wish I knew this when I was out meteor watching a couple years ago. There was a street light right in the back cuz there was a park.

  • When I was a cop in Nacogdoches, we'd knock 'em out with our spotlights. heh...I'll have to try it with my laser.

  • I threw an empty can of Silly String at the Post a few years ago and it shut off.

  • neat video thanks for posting!

  • Dude this works I tried yesterday and it turned off

  • will it work with a 5mw laser?

  • Ya this works when I'm driving sometimes my lights cause the street lights to shut off.

  • another way the kill the neighbors and not get caught

  • I highly doubt a red laser could do this...

  • @aGruntNamedYayap A freaking flashlight could do it from the right angle and a few inches away. A laser pointer, even a little store bought one, is about 50X brighter than that at it's little point.

  • No, it's real. When he shines the light at the photocell on top it thinks it's day because there is light in it. Just like during the day when they turn off because they detect the suns light.

  • this isn't fake. i do it all the time.

  • It works, go out and try it or STFU! its not like you cant do it your self and prove him wrong!

  • That click was Dumbledore using his Deluminator :)

  • @HapplyFace dude epic comment lolz

  • I done this to a few lights in my street...then i got lost.

  • With the new metal poles u can just kick them hard and it will turn off ;)

  • @jjiimm67 And what do you do with your broken foot?

  • This isnt fake at all. That click is the sound of the relays and ballast in the light shutting down.

And it would most likely shut the light off for about 15-20min as it looks to me to be a mercury vapor light which has to cool down before it will re strike

  • does it disable the photosensor or does it just turn the light off for a short period of time?

  • it really does work

  • @SignifiedSix11 No, that's the sound of the light going off. Why would I fake it? Like I said before to someone else, try it yourself. All you need is a cheap laser pointer. It can be done with any street light that has a light-detecting sensor on it.

  • @SignifiedSix11 Yes, everything on youtube is fake. What you are seeing is just an image created by many tiny color-changing lights dictated by information sent over a series of data streams and servers. If you would like to see the "real" version, you may visit this man and/or try it yourself.

  • @SignifiedSix11 Wrong. I do it every night after spending thousands on telescope equipment, I dont need fuckin light pollution ruining my viewing. Problem is, the light comes back on after 15 mins.

  • @SignifiedSix11 It is true every street light has a sensor on it if you hit that sensor with bright light it turns the light out

  • It only works with the old lights if the light has been updated or a new one installed it will not work

  • @SignifiedSix11 HAHAHA UR DUMB!!

  • @SignifiedSix11 Yeah, it's the same reason lightning will temporarily turn off street lights when it's bright enough. Lrn2light-sensor.

  • omg lols im son doing this!

  • I just use a baseball bat...

  • shit, in my country ,the Light Sensors are on the top and facing to the sky, and you can't reach it from the ground.. :l

  • I tried this with my 1W blue laser many times and has no luck, even when I slightly unfocussed it for a larger beam to be able to enter the sensor. I also had no luck with a 300mW red and a 50mW green. I suck

  • Amateur astronomers rejoice!

  • How powerful is your laser pointer?

  • @ChristmasRights Not sure. The sticker fell off it. It's not very powerful. It's one of those cheap ones.

  • @ChristmasRights I think it is about 5 mw... that is enough to turn off street lights.

  • i must apologise for my previous comment saying this is fake i think our streetlights in new zealand run on timers this video is real folks waiting on my 5000mw from ioffer.com oh the anticipation.

  • It works, I do this all the time.

  • all your doing is tricking the light into thinking its day, thats why it went off because it thought it was the sun

  • All photocells on street lights have a time delay circuit : you CAN turn them off with a laser pointer, BUT you have to keep it focused uninterrupted on the small opening of the photocell for a minimum of 120 to 360 seconds. If the beam moves, the timer resets, you have to start over. Very difficult, I bet you can't hold your hand steady from the ground that long especially if you've had a beer. (why else are you doing this?: ) Plus the light restarts soon when the beam is gone! have fun!

  • If can have the same reaction if you shoot it out with a BB rifle.

  • @Iowaracefan that or a decent sized rock ive put many streetlights out both ways lol...wish i could be 14 again (sometimes)

  • it works because the street light turns on when its dark but laser pointers are so bright that when pointed at the thing on top it goes off, also try throwing your coat or something on top and it will turn on at day

  • this is actually real! i tried this before! and it work

  • how strong does the laser have to be to do this

  • Does it work to turn it on or just off?

  • Its really does work i just did it

  • Yes it does work and I've done it before. All it is that the laser is bright enough to "trick" the sensor into thinking it's daylight, thus shutting off the light.

  • can a 5mw laser do this?

  • does it work with blue-violet?

  • new way to be stealthy

  • Ha Nice!

  • its fake if u listen carefully exactly when the light goes u hear a clicking sound from a computer at 0:13

  • @AlexBowgen That's the sound of the bulb going off. Why would you think it's fake anyway? Do it yourself.

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel does this work in my country

because the street light not same

    hope you understand

  • @bepopxxx Probably not if there's no light-detecting sensors on the ones there. It should be sticking up on top of the light if they're like the ones here.

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel what your fb i wanna add you and i will send a picture my street light

  • @bepopxxx Search for "Nukem Dave". There's another guy on there with that name, too. I'm the one with the nuke symbol profile picture.

  • @AlexBowgen that the starter shutting off

  • @AlexBowgen lol some big conspiracy you stumbled upon haha

  • It was just the light going out

  • @AlexBowgen It's probably a relay.

  • @AlexBowgen thats just the light going of i think the street lights around hear click just like that when they go of

  • @AlexBowgen Yhje click is the ballast resistor. Do some some research before sitting on your ass calling fake.

  • idiots its not a street light suckers ...hear the lamp click

  • @TheHepz You're stupid, the clicking noise is the light turning off.

  • all if does is it tricks the light sensor thinking it's day when it's night the light will come back on once it recycles it's power cycle. theses lights in the street use lot of power so they need to cool off before they turn back on. andf yes they have have the sensors sometimes they are pointing toward the sky so aren't seen

  • Comment removed

  • ... Are you Dumbledore?

  • it never fucking works for me tf lol

  • can it turn of with a 5mw red laser?

  • @Xbox360717 yes but not every street light have a light sensor

  • @xMujcicx Same Lol Need 2 get some battrys tho ;/

  • does it stay off always now?:

  • emblazon.wall.fm CHECK OUT THE NEW SOCIAL NETWORK AND JOIN! emblazon.wall.fm

  • I'm the next Dumbledore!

  • does it work with a green laser or just red?

  • @duner16 Both.

  • @duner16 GREEN LASERS ARE POWER FUL

  • poor traffic light

  • "Turning Off a Street Light with a Laser Pointer "

    AKA

"How To Burgle An Entire Neighborhood In One Night"

  • how many mws is your laser pointer

  • how long does it take to come back on?

  • @Keano103 The Photocell Activates again soon after....however since these are HID Bulbs they take a few minutes to light again.

  • could you use a 5mw laser

  • @MrNinjabeast

yes it will work, i have a 200mw but the guy in this video only had like a 1 mw laser

  • i was woundering if its possible to do it with a 5mw laser

  • does this kill the sensor or just short it so the light is back on the next night?

  • @TestShoot It doesn't hurt it.

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel How long does the light go out for?

  • @TestShoot it simply trips to sensor thinks its daytime and switches off

  • @TestShoot there apparently is a sensor in that thing so when you shine a light source above it it will detect light. and think it's day and then ofc shut down the bulb.

  • im going to be like dumbledore when i have one of these lool

  • @mapnxyaha2k10 ROTFLMAO that was my 1st thought too

  • @mapnxyaha2k10 no you would be ron. he has it now.

  • @mapnxyaha2k10

    HAHAHA true right

  • @mapnxyaha2k10 EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING =D

  • You are a fine example of light saving energy...Good Lad

  • NICE!!!! im going to do that!!!

  • how powerful is your laser?

  • @AmazerLaser I'm not sure. It's not powerful, it's one of those cheap lasers.

  • My laser is better mine can turn out the sun

  • @xmxzooyorkxmx you're original....

  • @xmxzooyorkxmx Mine can beat Chuck Norris D:<

  • @xmxzooyorkxmx i seriosly dout that

  • @xmxzooyorkxmx than we shall dance under the stars

  • @xmxzooyorkxmx The sad thing is I'm sure someone has tried.

  • That's awesome I am getting a 200mw grean laser from deal extreme and I wanted to know how long it stays off or is it permanent please reply !!!!!! :D

  • @Awskmet Just for a few minutes.

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel ok thanks

  • I dont know if street lights are setup like that in NZ so I can't do it with my 50mW green laser...

  • @TheCommanderNZ Nice laser! Well, they're probably the same. Just look and see if you see something sticking up on top of it the next time you're around a street light again. That should be the sensor. Also, I discovered something else you can do. You can point your laser at the sensor on those auto open/close doors at the supermarket, etc. Opens them right up.

  • @TheDaveNukemChannel Street lights on expressways tend not to have sensors sticking out of the top. Instead, there is one sensor on a post with a power box. This sensor controls a whole set of street lights. The interchange down the street from my college campus has one sensor controlling all the light posts.

  • @MTLTV1765 Cool! That would be even more fun! ;)
