@BishopofMusic Do you want to replace a stack switch with a single pole or you wanting to use only one of the switches on a stack switch? An example would be if you had a stack switch for your bath room,one controls the ex fan and one controls the light. Provided it is just a standard ex fan(not a heater unit) you could combine the 2 switch legs and operate off of one single toggle.
as with the other guy, what's the scoop on the different screw covers? I've done a bit of basic wiring around the house; replacing outlets, light fixtures and switches, and I gotta admit, I'm curious about the varying colors; color-coding, or something else?
I have put one of these in my bathroom to run the light and exhaust fan separately. Works good. Thanks for the upload. One question, the screw colors... Why are the feed screws black and switch leg brass? Most I have seen are feed, brass and swtich leg, silver. I'm just confused. Could you explain? Thanks.

Line and load,power in-power out in simplistic terms.
The silver screw mentioned usually indicates a neutral is being used in the case of some pilot light switches.
