@Iluvradiohead13 im no expert on the bible but was raised catholic and have much religious background. i believe that if you take your own life, then no matter what you believe you will not be saved. to me this song is about the inner battle between wanting to end the pain and sorrow, and turning to god to save you from that. this has been a battle for me as of late. and i have to say thank you to Amy Lee and Evanescence for making this song. it pulls me through the darkest of moments.

@Imperfectyoshi sorry about the late reply, but just found this version of this song. :) a tourniquet is a medical device used to stop the bleeding in surgery or if there's a wound of some sort. there are temporary tourniquets like cloth (tied tightly around the wound), but ultimately it's just something to stop the blood flow in that area. in this case, it's so that she can continue living.
