  • This music is Prokofiev's "Stone Flower." It is a Russian fairy tale that has nothing in common with the Anderson "Snow Queen." The score is not very familiar in the West so choreographer Corder had the luxury of utilizing a score that could lend itself to the segmentation needed for a story ballet. It's unfortunate that, as previously stated, it has nothing to do with Scandinavian stories in that it is Russian through and through.
