No.. Megadeth are Thrash metal, at least were.

Maybe in the later 90s were them and Metallica went mainstream like on this album, you could say they are heavy metal, but they're still a Trash Metal band, hence why they're one of "The Big Four" of the 80s Thrash metal bands: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.

Sure one of A7X's band members may be influenced by Megadeth, but that doesn't mean that A7X is Thrash Metal.

I loved the old A7X albums, and imo those were metalcore
