It could be the Caspian tiger never became extinct. It is separated from the Siberian tiger by just one nucleotide. So basically, the Caspian tiger and Siberian tiger are the same. If this is the case, cannot Siberian tigers be reintroduced into places like Turkmenistan? There have unconfirmed sightings in Azerbaijan and Afghanistan. Until camera traps can prove this is the case, negotiations can be done with the governments of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan about reintroduction.
@Kiammyfy Think about it like bears, there are a lot of different kind of bears, they are all different in some way or forms like the brown bear and the grizzly bear. =)
20 years experience of identifying tigers plus research I have done for several organisations.
It may be of interest to you to know that the Caspian Tiger and Siberian Tiger have been found to be an almost identical DNA match. Whether or not this proves the 2 subspecies should be reclassified as one remains to be seen.

Very nice video. Good job! (Ignore the rude comments below. If you pronounce it as EEE--Ron = Iran. Easy way to remember.)

0.47 and 1.05 and 2.16 are the only genuine colour photos.
The rest are mainly Siberians with a South China one chucked in for good measure. Please research your topic properly.
