  • Nice you are the meaning of a true fisherman to let her go to make to the mating grounds up river. TIGHT LINE ALWAYS BRO, ISUCSRIBE TO YOUR CHANNEL BRO.

  • you should pull the anchor every fish, make them pull the boat and they will wear out faster. thats what i do with striper where i live

  • @wintergreen420 cool good idea. makes sense to do that

  • avet sx reel?

  • @longo888 no it was a pflueger trion 66l. i do have an avet reel now though!

  • that's a nice fish

  • The fish is now brain damaged. You kept it out of the water too long.

  • Good stewards. ( I like your release) If you don't eat it, let it live.

  • where was that cought?

  • wouldn't made a bad meal but they was catch and release time. sashimi time.

  • its amazing how many people ask what bait you used.. anyways, awesome fish man.. hard to let one that big back in the water but you'll always have ur trophy as long as u dont lose this vid.. nice vid

  • @jrwinn32 haha, thanks man! yeah its crazy that it says it right in the title "live herring" hehehe

  • what kind of bait did you use?

  • @petakmynuts1 - "STRIPER FISHING - I catch a 44 inch striper on live herring"

  • dick holes

  • Nice fish man What kind of bait did yu use for stripers Anchovies?

  • @SuperFisherboy123 Can you read before posting? Please, Fuckin' Christ you are like Sarah palin or GW Bush look at the description, FUCK! Live herring. FUCK!

  • what is the best kind of rod for striper fishing? and btw nice fish!

  • @Holyjtizzle123 thanks! i prefer shimano teramar inshore series 7' heavy

  • @Holyjtizzle123 if ur on he surf u should use either a st croix or get a custom rod if ur on a boat a 6.5 to 7 ft pole with medium action will do just fine but it depends on how ur fishing where ur fishing and wat ur using for bait

    FN in MT

  • @mhp237 thanks for stoping by!

  • Hmm quick question y u putbit back? That's really good eating and the min is 28 inches I just caught a 32 and a 29 inch striper in cape cod mass and they were good

  • y throw it back?

  • @jawsflounderace yep. can't keep them when they are spawning

  • @anichypor probably because it is the law...

  • time for some netting lessons

  • Dude your a real dick for sticking your hand down its throat plus, when you touched it like you did you wiped the slim on the outside off which is its immune system... That fish probally died....

  • @CORYLEBABY He was pulling the hook out of the fish. You'd rather him just leave a hook in it's belly? And he didn't even really handle it that much, he just held the bottom of it. Stripers aren't likely to get parasites anyways.

  • Why didn't you just release it? Is it bad for the fish to just throw it back in?

  • @Xdiablofoolx Because when you hold them in the water and push them back in forth it helps them 'get back to life' you might say. I actually forgot to do that once and I just dropped it in and it floated away on the surface like it was dead and a seagull came and snatched it up.

  • that was in the chesapeake bay

  • are you in a lake or ocean??

  • hey dumbass... next time just cut the line instead of stickin your fuckin forearm down her throat to pull the hook out...

  • you cant keep them out of the water long at all... thay die pretty fast... nice vid.

  • Wow your fishing is much more badass as mine

  • stop video at 1:31... looks like 2 or 3 ufo's in the upper right sky!!!!

  • real nice lol honor the fish by letting it go :D

  • LOL - make sure that shit is recording...

I would say the same thing bro.

    Nice job and nice fish

  • Excellent catch and release guys. It should be illegal to keep spawning cows everywhere. All of these idiots saying you should have eaten it, it's the smaller ones you want to eat. The bigger ones have darker meat full of mercury and PCB's.

  • eat it next time or call me i will DIRT

  • nice striper ive only caught one about 10 pounds tiny compared to yours but im only 13 so ill catch more later in my life

  • nice release

  • where did you catch this at east coast?

  • Why on earth would you not filet that pig? If every sport angler kept their keepers it would not put a dent in the striped bass stalks. Anyway great catch and you all did a good job dont mind all the "rookie" comments you got the fish in the boat.

  • it isn't legal to keep them while they are spawning in the spring on the susquehanna flats. their bellys are filled with eggs.

we were rookies then. its cool. i am just glad we got some good videos

  • @dickdog75 Now what state do you live in because I live in Connecticut and they don't have a closed season on them and also the minimum it keep is 28 inch and may only keep 2 or less and they don't care about no spawning season.

  • hahahahaha did you just say every angler keeping their catch won't effect stripers? Where do you live?

  • I said 'sport' more specifically north of the Chesapeake. Research beach seining. The number of sport anglers and their potential catches is insignificant in comparisons to the striper stalks. hahaha? do some research into the history of commercial striped bass fishing and todays current situation. I also should have said within current legal limits and probably some more relaxed limits too.

  • yeah limits need to be changed. charters keep over their limits all the time in the bay during the season.. year before last one guy destroyed them and kept way more then allowed. he had other trucks taking away his catch. its on here somewhere. striper fishing sucks now due to over fishing commercially and due to over fishing menhaden, which have stripers in with them. i know a guy who fishes the bay and he said charters keep over the limit on the deck and drop off when they see coastgaurd.

  • where do you get your logic....its better to release (male or female) stripers so they have a chance to spawn the next year.

  • what bait u use to catch stripers

  • we use live herring or fresh herring if that is all we can get

  • ok ty

  • @pokemon2727 live bait such as shad or hering or artifical baits such as crank baits or bucktail jigs

  • hell yeah! we have been very lucky in the last couple years fishing from boats

  • I need to get myself onto a boat and go more out!... I be fishing on the bank. Good catch!

  • what a rookie little baby net and u dont need to pull anchor for a striper come on rookies

  • hehe. we actually were rookies on the susquehanna flats then. i agree the net job was terrible too :)

we aren't rookies now though :)

  • dude get a commercial license and sell that shit

  • Wow, nice fish! Thanks for posting. That video is inspiring.

  • hehe, i like to let them go and hopefully let someone else catch them too :)

  • Nice fish but i would have kept it haha. stripers taste good.

  • Yep you are right. We were pretty wound up when we got it in the boat! I think if we had taken our time we would have been more accurate but I wanted to get her (and all her eggs) bacK in the water. Thanks for commenting :)

  • If I'm not mistaken your suppose to measure the fish with their mouths closed. If a game warden measures it, he doesn't have its mouth open like that. Therefore if its mouth was closed the fish would have went 42 - 42 1/2 I'm guessing. Beautiful catch though, and thanks for releasing.

  • Nice man

  • oh ya

  • it said 42inch

  • go to 5:09 in the clip and you will see that you are wrong. thanks for stopping by though

  • the bottom lip

  • Nice!

  • helluva fish!

  • Nice fish bro... I have to I usually turn fish back but i don't know if i could have let that one go.. Nice job man

  • Nice fish! Nice catch and release too! Good job.

  • A 44 inch is around 30 years old.

  • nice mfg

  • danm boys, good job to release the big stripers. i wish this year i catch one like that.

  • nice catch buddy, its cool you let it go, i always do too....

  • its actually good that the bait died, because bass are bottom feeders so if the fish was dead, it'll eat the bait anyway

  • ya no what i like to do, catch like 36inch bluefish with 10lb test line, i just love fighting the fish

  • i take it home and frame it up

  • is good to release it, those big ones are females males almost never get to that size.

  • Comment removed

  • you guys lettin that thing go is the best thing you can do thanks

  • Really nice fish, glad to see that i'm not the only one who like to release the big stripers.

  • nice fish

  • Props to you guys, great job, great fish. Thanks.

  • Killer catch bro, nice to see you released it, good for you....

  • Ohh!! Its a big ol' Pig!!
