this topic is more complex than that. i can't dispute most of the video, and i don't want to. but the part i have an issue with is claiming that americans who aren't cotton farmers barely benefit from these subsidies. i live in the ms delta. home of cotton. we're already at the bottom of the totem poll when it comes to economy (and most other things.) while most people in the delta aren't cotton farmers, trust me, those subsidies put food on a lot of tables, by extension.
This is big problem. The US keeps poor countries poor. I'd gladly pay much more on everything (and consume much less) in order to help poor countries' economy grow!

Brazil is not the issue here. The real scandal is that US cotton subsidies further impoverish the people of large parts of West Africa and thus prevent them from beginning a journey towards economic development.

It can take a ton of water to produce a kilo of grain. When it takes 7 kilos of grain for each kilo of beef it becomes easy to see how the industrial meat system exploits Brazil's groundwater.

@komfyrion 1, speed doesn't make that much of a difference. He could still be fatally wounded. 2, Yes, they do, actually. The most likely people to drink drive are young adults, and we all know what they get up to in parking lots. 3, I don't care if he's in a parking lot. He's probably going to exit said parking lot at some point (I'm just making wild guesses here. Hurumphf.) onto a road and he wouldn't have a seat belt on. Crash ensues. 4, Shut up, troll.

Great vídeo! I´m brazilian, lived in US for 2 years in 3 different cities, and i think that make US pay our cotton farmers is not fair. I think that there should be just a little simple rule: "If mime is cheaper, than f* you, i´ll sell and you won´t."...but thanks for the millions anyway! :) lol

That's why subsidies in general are a terrible idea. The tax payer foots the bill for a niche group of people while the rest of the population picks up the bill. Which makes me think that the next stop should be to stop subsidizing Amtrak.

INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, the reason Brazil's economy developed so much is because it made an economic pact with Russia, China, and India (known as the BRIC), which in 2003 were not developed economies. This pact has also included South Korea, Indonesia, Arab countries, and Eastern European countries.
