  • @jsd1982 how many years do you play guitar and where do you find the songs that you play?

  • steves special????

  • @pabl0paredes Is the Steve's Special in my JS-1000? No. These are the stock pickups selected by Ibanez for the JS-1000 model.

  • its hard to believe they play this faster live lol, used to at least

  • u hold power chords the same way i do :D

  • @SenselessCovers The right way? I agree :)

  • DAMMIT another awesome cover!!

you know you should do Cowboys From Hell!!

  • @Gamez4Lif3 You know, I should. I love that song. Finding the right tone is the tricky part for that song though.

  • @jsd1982 That's completely true and Dimebag uses some unusual tuning aswell :P that's what makes it sound so badass i guess :P but you really should do that song you kickass the song's badass...

    kickass + badass = kicking badass :D

  • @Gamez4Lif3 watch my video :)

  • Oh man... I can only say: I can't stop watching/hear you!

  • Oh man, I can only say: I SUBSCRIBED.

  • may i make a comment, a slight observation. I think you did do it

  • nice one but it downpicking most of song hard to keep it up ik

  • EPIC TONAGE MAN!!! I'm trying to do the same but.. it seems it's the Mesa that brings that crunch... I only have a Kustom 50watt amp. where do you get the drums?

  • Dude, Awesome Cover :D 5/5 How long you been playing?

  • wow amazing 10/10 :D\m/

  • ohh! u went lazy on the downpicking... :(

  • Yeah unfortunately I did. More like my right arm went lazy and couldn't keep up! :)

  • Great recording, the quality is excellent. Its awesome how you play all the parts unlike most covers.

  • Aww you didnt play the beginning of solo *LEAD*

  • EXCELENT SOUND there spider fingers, how do you get it?

  • Lol @ spider fingers. It's all a MESA Boogie Triaxis LD2 YELLOW mode. Pretty much every guitar I plug into it sounds like this. The JS-1000's pickups do lend to some of the crunch sound too.

  • i really like it :)

  • 3:25 That part is more slow... but its good ;)

Rallen197 has the reason.. some parts like chorus.. need only down pick.. Keep the work !! :D

  • The slowness has to do with the tempo set in the MIDI arrangement I downloaded. I didn't bother to check that it was entirely accurate to Metallica's recording. Point taken on the alternate-picking vs. down-strokes. I think I may have developed a muscular problem in my right arm that makes it so I can no longer do all down-strokes at this tempo like I used to be able to 10 years ago. Then again, a lot of other things don't work like they used to 10 years ago either :P

  • nice cover but needs to be down picked in the verse and some other areas but still sounds good

  • I hear only orginal version, not you ;/

  • What an excellent compliment, since none of the original track is in this recording! :) I recorded everything you hear.

  • nice cover man

    pedal?

  • What do you mean? No I don't use any pedals for this sound. It's all in the Triaxis and the cabinet.

  • great song

  • oha lan

  • when metallica action on stage they always put black shirt....same as u...sorry if i wrong...hehe..be friend pls...fan metallica from malaysia

  • You didn't put what kind of T-shirt you have on your info this time lol. Sick cover.

  • +1 ]

I was thinking the same excact thing !

    Anyways, Awesome cover !

  • well done man, really good job i dont care if its 5 stars only, i'll give you 10 stars.

  • yeahhhnbc

  • your solo is harder than kirk's :P

  • nice cover..but u gotta downpick it man

  • no cuz then you get tired and cant play it

  • not if ur good enough

  • i know but one of my friends has trouble picking down word for a long time cuz for some reason he gets cramps in his arms and i tell him stop ur gunna break my strings cuz he picks so hard and im like calm the fuck down ... but anyway i can pick downwards or back and forth with ease just saying for some people its hard

  • yes that is the next step.

  • I just wonder how many hours it took to master this song, however great work man.

  • this is awesome, my friend can play this song only up to the fast solo but hes still working on it

  • I probably practice maybe 10-20 hours a week if I feel like it. Usually about 2 hours a day after work if I'm not too beat down. I don't have a strict practice regime but I probably should get one.

  • Three methods come to mind:

    1) obsessively watching Kirk play them in every video you could get your hands on and dissecting each section and using your ear.

    2) listening to the album and using your ear.

    3) buying the Master of Puppets transcription book and using your ear.

  • Ur are fucking awesome man, i think u lost few sounds on solo but its propably blame of a bit worse gear. U rox anyway!

  • How do you just get the drum output to play along with it?

  • I use Cakewalk Sonar to play the drums while I record to it.

  • It looks kinda like you listened the whole song off...

  • holy fuck on that solo man.

  • are those downstrokes I see in the beginning?

  • Why yes... yes they are. That was before my arm fell off after recording this whole thing 4 times in a row.

  • good stuff man!!! That was very cool!! 5*

  • hollly shiitttt...solo made my jaw drop

  • LOL

  • Down strokes man, down strokes!!!

  • That's what she said.

  • hahahahaha

  • that sent chills down my spine! GREAT JOB DUDE!!!!

  • i should post my version of this... this one rocks so badass

  • awesome cover

same as ur sad but true cover, awesome distortion

  • you're a very good guitarist but you should definitely work on 2 things:

-you need more attack in your playing...it'a bit too smooth as far as rhythm is concerned.

-downpicking...what makes master such a hard song to play is that EVERYTHING is downpicked...if you use alternate picking it's much easier to play but it takes away a lot of energy from the song...

apart from that you still need to work on the solo...but that's still a good effort though...

  • Honest feedback! Thanks! Yeah I'm aware of the downpicking but my wrist was just dying after 4 or 5 takes of the whole song trying to get it all in one good take. I will work on the solo but I don't have much respect for Kirk's lead work any more.

  • You are thinner now. And still fucking amazing!

  • great ;)

  • Kirks solo was messed up, but yours was fucking cool too!

  • you play very good but the fast solo is way off

  • Yeah that's awesome. Should all be down picking at the start though if I'm going to be a stickler :p

  • Damn!... how long it take you to be that good ?

  • I've known how to play this song for about 8 years now.

  • im not convinced.. sounds to me like you have tried to master it and just synced the video

  • Convinced of what? I recorded the audio and video at the same time and mixed the live audio track with the other tracks i pre-recorded. Mixed it and mastered it and then synched the master audio back up with the video track.

  • Fucking amazing, YOU EARNED A SUBSCRIBE FOR DOING MY FAVORITE SONG THIS GOOD!

  • dude.. all down strokes like a true metallica guitarist... NICE! haha i can only play this song in up and down at full speed

  • Dude, obviously this was ot 100%, but I'll guarantee that there aint too many people who can do any better!!! Nicely done mate!

  • AWESOME! got nothing else to say that awesome. Well done!

  • what type of guitar is that? (".)?

  • Ibanez JS-1000 BP.

  • no pinch harmonic on the intro break ?.....booooo

  • You're doing a really good job man. All the songs played are DEAD ON.

By the way, I'm using a Mesa Boogie Quad preamp, and I was wondering what settings you use for your tone. If it's not a big secret. I just wanna hear how they would sound on the preamp that sorta came before the triaxis.

And by the way, if you're still taking requests, could you play And justice for all?

  • The settings on the TriAxis don't affect the tone too drastically and I change mine so often. I doubt they'd transfer well to a quad. Then again, never used a quad.

Nah.. AJFA is so long and boring to do instrumental cover of. Got another one?

  • Okay, so what would be the key to the whole tone? I'm trying to get the right equipment to create the rich sound, so any tips would be appreciated.

Hmm okay, do anything you want from the AJFA. If you really want a challenge, try Frayed ends of sanity or Blackened. :p

  • Pre-amp: 40%

    Pickups: 30%

    Speakers/cabinet: 16%

    Power-amp: 10%

    Guitar Body: 2%

    Cabling: 2%

The pre-amp and pickups are the main components and definition of the tone. Everything else just polishes up that tone.

I have DiMarzio pickups and they're wonderful.

MESA/Boogie preamps kick ass. Experiment with power amps to see what you like and how much power per $ you need. Speakers vary greatly but I don't have much experience with many varieties.

  • Do you take requests?

  • Sure if I know it.

  • How about Fight fire with fire?

  • You're on.

  • Can't wait.

  • that was fu**in awsome

  • Omg....you nailed it!10/5*+subscribed!!!

  • LOL. Thanks for your enthusiasm and the rating, but I did screw up here 'n there.

  • i found the welcome home (sanitarium) by you and it was AWSOME!

  • Well that must've taken some searching! And thanks :) Props to Kane Bennett for the vocals on that track.

  • Yeah I was considering doing a video for that. For everyone else, he's talking about my list of cover MP3s on my site (see profile for link).

  • props man, that song puts some hurt on the arm, and you pulled it amazingly

  • FCM

  • Alien fingers. Fuck anyone who as criticisms. You are on the mar, obviously play with a metronome on a regular basis and have my eternal respect.

  • amazing, dude!

  • Thats a hell of a lot of discipline on your right hand....I can't get that precise of a motion...I have sloppeh playing. :P Gonna spend the entire summer working on my technique.

  • Yeah, I wonder how much hell a bassist goes through pounding out these riffs using fingerstyle?

  • A lot.

    Did it.

    It sucks.

I can do this song well, but it hurts like a bitch.

  • excellent yet again but in the verses im sure they use down picking on the palm mute not alternate ;ppp loool i know it tires your arm out but sounds better xD

  • Maybe 20 years ago they did ;). I know what you mean, but my arm is killing me after so many tries.

  • lol fair play man keep up the good vids anyway =]

  • holy shit man well done. all your work is excellent. bad ass!!

  • Nice one. 5/5
