After you learn that easier method going back to this is much easier. This is the proper way of doing it.

What he means is, if you start with a new deck, then do the shuffle 8 times, you will have a new deck once more. Similarly if you start with it in any pattern and shuffle it 8 times, you will have the same pattern.

Faro Shuffles are quite difficult, but it is possible to do with perfect accuracy. 8 times and the deck will be restored to the original order.

@Yoursoul101 actually, if you do it perfectly eight times it does. i computerised the test a while ago. shuffles 3, 4, 5, and 6 yielded the best results, 1, 2, 7 and 8 were too predictable.

no it doesn't fool. the top and bottom cards stay the same every 2 perfect shuffles so it's impossible. no matter how many times you do it the top and bottom card will never be in a different place than the top or bottom. he's just saying that to get people to practice
