what a dumb thing to do, best lowest firmware is 2.2.1 the most fastest and stable. I have a 3G fw3.0, fw3.0 and higher aren't great on 3G the memory problem that exists on all ipods touches/3G 2G are made worse...and the iphones overheat
also not all the apps close instantly, they lag before they do. I say only go down if you have 3.0 and lower
if you have 3Gs (which i do to) THEN fw3.0 and higher is ok as the cpu and ram is better

Hi, When you jailbreak the iphone it will not erase your settings. That only happens when you downgrade the firmware. You do not need to downgrade to jailbreak it.

Hi, You need to change the extension .zip to .ispw and then it will work with itunes. You do not need to extract anything just change the extension. Best of luck.

Hi, the downgrade will help if you are having problems with the current version. For example with version 2.2.1 I have had battery issues where the charge does not last. So downgrading it solved my problem. If you are having problems try power cycling the iphone (turn it off then back on) if the problem persist you might want to restore the firmware to reprogram it. I have found that after installing many apps my iphone starts working funny.

If you have other devices that do connect to your wireless router than yes there might be a problem with the iphone. I would try to do a restore of the firmware, make sure you back up any notes and information you might need to save from the iphone. Let me know how it goes.

I'm sorry I can't help. My iphone is not unlocked nor do I use any sim card to unlock it which I assume is the way you have it. Let me know, I would recommed to do it again by upgrading to the latest version and downgrade again. Remember that the baseband will not downgrade eventhough you downgrade the firmware.
3.0 is not out for the public yet so you must have downloaded the beta version of it. I believe that if you follow the instructions in this video it should work as well. Let me know.

Yes once you upgrade to version 2.2.1 it upgraded your baseband which currently cannot be downgraded. Search google from time to time to see if a fix is released. I'm sure someone will since when version 2.2 came out you could not unlock it, then yellowsn0w came out which allowed you to unlock it.

I was reading on the internet that once you upgrade your mac to version 10.5.6 it will not let you use the quickpwn program to jailbreak it so I imagine you won't be able to use the program to also activate the firmware once it is downgraded.

You are the first that asked that question, I use a Sony HDR-SR1 which not only records high definition but has a great zoom lens, and a remote control. Also the screen flips arounds so you can see what you are recording. The screen is also touch screen. If you want an inexpensive camera take a look at the Flip Video HD which records in High def, and 16.9 aspect ratio. Hope this helped.

even though i downgraded, the baseband stays the same so i cant unlock the phone.

Yes once you upgrade to version 2.2.1 it upgraded your baseband which currently cannot be downgraded. Search google from time to time to see if a fix is released. I'm sure someone will since when version 2.2 came out you could not unlock it, then yellowsn0w came out which allowed you to unlock it.
Apple quickly fixed that hole by coming out with version 2.2.1. Best of luck.

I was reading on the internet that once you upgrade your mac to version 10.5.6 it will not let you use the quickpwn program to jailbreak it so I imagine you won't be able to use the program to also activate the firmware once it is downgraded.
Your best bet is get a windows computer to get this done. Best of luck.

Hello, it has to work. It has worked for tons of people. If it is not working it has to do something with your computer or you are using the wrong firmware. Try doing this on another computer if possible. Let me know. Best of luck.

Once you upgrade the iphone to version 2.2.1 it also upgrades the baseband. Currently there is no way to downgrade the baseband so you cannot unlock it. This is why I have mine with ATT, I don't want to have to be going through this everytime an update comes out.

The error you should get is 1013, if you get another error than you have to redo it again.

so the fact of me downgrading to 2.2, when before i had 2.2.1, becuase i had uprgraded it in the first place and the modem firmware ALSO got upgraded theres no way as of right now to unlock it even after downgrading? So is there any way to unlock it when i have updated it to 2.2.1 WITH the modem firmware being updated?

hey whats goin on, i downgraded to 2.2 from 2.2.1, and im still not able to do the unlock because the modem firmware is still at 2.30.03, is there anyway to downgrade it so i can unlock it?

You are the first that asked that question, I use a Sony HDR-SR1 which not only records high definition but has a great zoom lens, and a remote control. Also the screen flips arounds so you can see what you are recording. The screen is also touch screen. If you want an inexpensive camera take a look at the Flip Video HD which records in High def, and 16.9 aspect ratio. Hope this helped.

Without it you will not be able to downgrade the version, you will get stuck with an error on the screen and the iphone will not downgrade correctly.
