awesome cover brother, and thanky ou for doing it in falsetto! so great, and i agree with @TheZacharyG, great tone!
i just completed a cover of Calgary myself, and I'd like to humbly offer if to any friends that are Bon Iver fans, and yourself @JBeezie428. Let me know what you think. Thanks for sharing this man, great job :)
Oh, wow. Not many men can pull off the falsetto like Vernon can ( except perhaps michael stipe in "toungue), but you've nailed it. It's quite a feat to keep it consistant for such a long time ,too, i'm sure. Way to go! I usually can't stand covers, and they often just make me wan't to hear the original, but your's was a pleasure to listen to all on it's own accord. Your cute, too.....
I honestly never comment on peoples covers because I'm usually never impressed, but you have impressed me sir. I love your voice!!! Also, the picking pattern is impossible because it's two guitars. Your strumming actually does it justice so I commend you for that :) Bon Iver is hard to do and you did it beautifully!
great cover man! falsetto's tough to match, especially with that of bon iver's. i'd humbly like to offer my cover of "Skinny Love" to all Bon Iver fans. It can be found on my page.
again, great job man. I know how tough it is to cover, and I like that you made this your own. keep at it :)
@TheZacharyG thanks. It is a Zager. They do not make them anymore. Basically, this guy Denny Zager buys Martin parts wholesale and assembles them himself. They cost only like 3/4 of Taylors and Martins, but sound just as good.
Dude, if you lay this down digitally with some fat reverb and layers like he does on the record and add some sweet instrumentals to support it, you've pretty much nailed it. You should run with this, you've got some talent.
@ryanalexanderko thanks man. I wish I had time to go back and do it all with all that...but maybe next time. I'll do another Bon Iver jam soon and try to experiment with some effects in post.
@jdgtrplyr standard tuning. Bon Iver plays it in another tuning though....not sure what...but I think some sort of open C. The chords are C Am G F. Capo on 1.
very cute i meant to add as well...always helps!

are you doing this in falsetto?
OLIVIAisTHEprettiest 7 months ago
@OLIVIAisTHEprettiest yup. Just as Justin Vernon does. I don't think any male could do this without falsetto!

The guitar work is really good but you should not try to emulate his voice, just use the tonality that suits you the best (and a capo if needs be)

wow. yeah, you've gotta have some large ones to cover a bon iver tune but you did it justice. really well done bro

Awesome cover. What's the strum pattern?
MusicFan2013 8 months ago
@MusicFan2013 Thanks. I really don't track the "strumming pattern". I just kinda go with the rhythm of the song.
