  • im' wit ya ma dawg!!

  • Well said, soccerman006.

  • Ever since the 1960's--heck, even before that --people have realized this. And tried to stop it. But, the government does NOT want us to do much about it, because that would mean quitting their massive oil addiction, etc.

We have to stop this from getting any worse. I see it as my lifes' job to fix what my ancestors/parents have done in the past. it's not fair, but we can't put it off any more.

  • OY. Global Warming is REAL. I don't care a **** if you don't think so, but global warming is real, and yes, things are starting to escalate. Yes, there have been cycles of global warming throughout history as far back as our instruments can tell, BUT: NOT AS MUCH BY FAR SINCE THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION CAME AROUND. then things started going real wrong.

  • soccerman006,

Polution is bad. But, what you are saying is that we should be enslaved by the government that uses global warming as an excuse to take away your way of life. It is no different then the Ozone hole, or acid rain. This is all a lie. When I say masters--I mean your t.v. You hear on t.v. and you believe it. Capitalism hasn't destroyed the environment Socialism has. Look at the former soviet union; they, polluted their country too the extent it will never be the same.

  • The government is not enslaving anybody. And just because we need some federal enforcement in order to tacle the issue of climate change, this is no reason to be complacent simply because of a worry of government power.

As for socialism destroying the environment, where did you come up with that idea? Socialism has nothing to do with it. Capitalism isn't at the root of the problem either. The problem stems from people and the consumption-driven lives they have been raised to lead.

  • Like a Snake Oil Salesman "Global warming advocates" with dubious credentials, sell a cure for global warming (snake oil comes to mind) with boisterous marketing hype, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence, typically bogus.

  • Global warming isn't real! Stop being slaves too your masters and rebel!

  • rjshmo,

Your arguement is truly ironic, because you my friend are the one who is being enslaved. You're being enslaved by your own addiction to oil and refusal to change your own lifestyle. I mean really, when it comes down to it, could it really HURT to stop polluting as much as we do?

  • Of course, some of us don't want to believe in climate change because we don't want to change our lifestyles. Your world or your lifestyle? We need to save our environment!

  • So why would Ron Paul make the Best President

    for America?

    - He will Stop The War Immediately

    - He Will Change Foreign Policy

    - He will Eliminate the IRS

    - He Will Eliminate Corporate & Political Corruption

    - Retore Rights to the People that have been stolen by the Corporations and corrupt politicans!

    - Unite Americans

What has Dr. Ron Paul done? find out

  • Global warming is a natural occurrence. Not only is it happening on earth but the same climate changes are happening on Mars. Are we polluting Mars' atmosphere as well with our rovers? I doubt it. Thats not to say Global warming isn't a serious threat. But decreasing our already small percentage (.002%) of carbon emissions will accomplish little.

  • Gintick,

The scientific community has an overwhelming certainty that the warming trend that is currently occuring is caused by human activities. The people that want you to believe global warming to be a natural occurence are being paid generously by oil and coal companies who are causing most of the problems associated with global warming. These companies do not have your welfare in mind. They are only concerned with maintaining their profits.

  • NOT!

  • Nigel...you rock!

  • BRK

  • global warming is bullshit....volcanos release more carbon in the air than humans do.the theory that carbon raises the heat on earth is stupid becuase in fact there is a 500 year lag of carbon in corallation heat, when the tempature goes up on earth carbon follows not the other way around but they dont tell people this.

  • BRK,

With all due respect, and I am curious, where did your information come from? Because humans are producing an enormous amount of carbon emissions. Also, the warming of the earth in correlation to carbon emissions has been extensivley documented by groups like the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and even the Pentagon in 2003. Humans are causing the current global climate change trend.

  • 95% of greenhouse gases are released by water evaporation. the hotter it is the more evaporation therefor more greenhouse gases not the other way around.

  • i have an idea... how about you kill yourself just incas e your stupidity is contagious

  • mohdhm,

are you referring to me or BRK?

  • 95% of greenhouse gases are released by water evaporation. the hotter it is the more evaporation therefor more greenhouse gases not the other way around.

  • correction not 500 years 800

  • BRK,

You are correct in saying that water vapor is a greenhouse gas...but, the reason more water is evaporating is because increasing levels of CO2 are warming the globe artificially, thus increasing the speed at which water evaporates globally. You've got to look to the root cause of global warming in order to understand it, not just one step in the middle of the warming process.

  • more water evaporates becouse of heat then Co2 is released threw vapor not the other way around

  • ummm, BRK,

I hate to break it to you but water vapor does not contain carbon. Water (H2O) is just that, two hydrogens and one oxygen, no carbon there at all...

Its just basic chemistry there. Conclusion: Water is not an organic compound. And carbon emissions are causing water vapor to evaporate, both of which contribute to global warming.

  • yes my mistake i meant to say it is a green house gas

but humans can only affect water vapor on a local scale

  • BRK,

I am not sure where you are basing these assumptions but if you read the IPCC report's recent findings you will find that CO2 emissions in fact are causing a global increase in evaporation (that is more water vapor is accumulating in the upper reaches of our atmosphere). This accumulation worldwide of water vapor is caused by carbon emissions from human activities around the globe. Believe it or not, your activities affect more than just the environment in your backyard.

  • IPCC is U.N the final outcome and choices of it are political like carbon tax

  • the IPCC is the most respected group of scientists today working on climate change issues. They have no political agenda, how could they? They are moderated by dozens of different countries! So what would be their political leaning. A carbon tax is going to necessary most likely to enact widespread behavioral change among people who are addicted to oil. The American people will respond to market pressures, so all the more reason to make gas more expensive.

  • a carbon tax by the UN is unconstitutional in the united states
