Back in the early 80's I played bass in a show called , " Another Evening With Eight Unknowns" in Chicago. We performed this song every evening. An actress named Isabella Hoffman sang it. And she sang it beautifully.

I have been looking for this song for years... ever since I heard Dustin & Sting perform it on the Parkinson Show - I only ever heard it that one time, but it has stayed with me for over 25 years... so nice... :-))

@benrainmaker . Ditto here. I,ve searched YT for a year looking for the Sting version. The BM one is horrible but it is nice to hear the song again. Like you I,ve remembered that performance for ages. Actually it was The Aspel Show not Parkinson!

This song, melody is in "Last Chance Harvey" and Dustin plays the piano. Simply beautiful. Met him tonight at the screening and said how I'd love to cover it someday. He said Sting performed it last weekend.

This is one of my favorite Bette Midler moments...I love this song, and I wish it were more well known. Why didn't she ever record it?
