There is something about Richie's voice and style that really 'grabs' me as a listener; I like the soulful, blues-oriented style he has. I like his solo music for that reason, as well. A reviewer once described Richie's background vocals in Bon Jovi as "towering" and I think that is apt description. He's such a good vocalist it's nice to hear him out front now and then with Bon Jovi's music.

Jon Bon Jovi hasn't considered Hugh McDonald a real member, because he thinks it is only right if they consider Alec John Such the real Bassist. It's the "Jersey Way" and is the "Original" lineup. Technically, Alec is still a "Member" of Bon Jovi. Not to us, but that's how it is.

without question both and Jon have great voices - it comes down to personal preference, THe thing that I find mmost different is style and how it affects the song. This is a TOTALLY different song even than the acoustic versions they do together.  Richie's just got a LOT more soul, and to echo someone else's comment. Richie IS the soul of the band.

Richie's got a really good voice for this kind of bluesy acoustic kind of music, I honestly believe that he would make the This Left Feels Right versions really really memorable, Jon's voice on it sometimes quite don't fit at all, he's a great singer but Sambora should take the vocal lead every once in a while with this kind of projects.
