I really enjoyed the video. My dad raced there for years. The white corvette in the 23-24 second of this video looks like my Dad's car. Where did you get the footage. Very interested in knowing if you have any more of this car.
Sorry , but that is the only Video I have from the Lions strip. I did not know any of the drag racers. I took the Vid myself back in the Good Old Days
That film is an absolute treasure. The south side grandstands were not even built and there is just a small bleacher set up next to the tiny control tower. I did not start going out to Lions until the middle 1960s, and it had already grown much larger and was a real race track with full facilites and stands running along both sides of the track by then. I can only imagine how many laughs the guy with the rear engine powered car (at the 3 minute mark) got back in 1958...Little did they know!

Fantastic film! Thanks for posting. Lived at Lions from my late 20's on - till it closed. What a shame - there never was another strip like it.
