  • Sunset Boulevard ripley derbyshire 1978

  • I was fourteen, studying english in Brighton, the venue's name was the "Top Rank" and this song was playing over and over.

  • and the Walton Hop! Great memories. Now where's my beer mat?

  • This tune was a HUGE club side in mid 1977, Jubilee year, (NOT 1978/1979), played on US Ovation 12". A massive anthem at Chaplin's in B'ham, Blackpool Mecca, Ritz, Manchester Alldayers etc.

The "blue vinyl" 12" mentioned was the UK issue from 1979.

  • 1979..... OMG forgot you could dance for 4 hrs solid and not be taking any drugs!

Funky bad ass tune and spending saturdays in import record shops was sooooooooo much fun(internet now much easier) !

  • @Sal1675 The UK Southern soul scene was all about the dancing. The clothes were great too. Girls didn't look tarty then. Wish we could relive those times. The tunes are classic, my 6 year old loves them.

  • This was being played when i first started going to clubs at the ripe old age of 15. Up till 2am dancing. Great memories, great times.
