When I crank the settings up to the max in Windows 7 I get only about 10-15FPS on my HD4850TOP with 3.5Ghz E8400... Sucks :(

Like I don't expect 100FPS or anything like that but goddam, how much money do you have to spend on a videocard nowadays just to get a PLAYABLE framerate? Fuck... Like I just want 30 FPS

Not everyone has $300, $400 to spend on the highest end videocard available...

If you play on a resolution of 1440x900 with everything on max, lower the AA a bit, and maybe not such high quality sun rays, I think your computer should handle the game pretty well. Playable at least :)

hey there is very much difference from enchaced an full dynamics...........if you put full dynamics i assure you that u you will get 20 fps more....and THIS IS FOR EVERYBODY... every patch updated also Updates gameplay[more fps ] From patch 1.51 TO 1.5.5 cuz' 1.5.6 is for multiplayer

Even XP is not different in a performance in Vista either.

The performance of the video card is low purely.

There is no schedule to use XP because DirectX10 corresponds only to Vista at all. And Because the memory is piled up in it by 8GB, only 64bitOS is used.

no.. i have 8600 gt and it works very well at full dynamics and maximum advanced...but at soft shadow there is a small lag ...you can play stalker 8600 gt with objects dynamic lighting and the rest at maximum with out lagging [ i have itenl core duo 2 3ghz 2 gb ram..and 8600 gt

some of the last settings really drop the games FPS. If you put it on DX9 w/ no volumetric lighting, you'll get a dramatic FPS increase.

Also note he is recording the video which slows the game down by about 10 - 15 FPS.

Although this is a ridiculously demanding game, it's still possible that you're experiencing the same issue as a lot of others.

There's a known bug with 'Sun Rays' which causes a severe drop in frame-rate -- apparently as much as half.

Test it: change only that setting to either medium or low and tell us if it made any difference.

Let's see if it can take Depths of Field. Bring up the client/console with the ~ (tilde key). Then type "r2" (without the quotation marks). Press and hold down TAB till you see "r2_dof". Now type in any number between 1-100. The smaller it is the better the visibility of the Depth of Field so 1 should be your option if you want it max.
