This sprint "breed" is actually a mixed breed that look more like hounds than huskies. Years of specialized breeding for speed & smarts only results in these super-fast sprint dogs. Generally they run 1 mile per dog in races ~ a team this size could run 18-20 miles at a pretty darn fast clip. That was a nice flat trail and ideal trail conditions. Regarding running the dogs hard... with nothing more than a 30 pound sled & no breaks to speak of - the dogs are the ones in control ;)

Wheee! lol My GSD pulls the bike in a harness, we've had some cars try to race us down residential roads lol. He loved every second of it and lived for the harness. I don't run him with the harness anymore (he's getting older) but he still can hit tip top speeds running along side the bike :)
