  • Great voice. Miss that

  • there will never be another like him i miss you john!

  • A True Talent Taken From us all too soon.Let Me Add I Know Some Folks who Know Mr Candy From Time On The Set. To The Person ALL Have Tremendously Great Things To Say About The Actor Who always Has The Feel Of A Frind As Well.

  • Johnny Toronto was a great one

  • So so jealous, god bless his soul.

  • Watching this, you can tell that John absolutely loved his fans - you really don't see that from celebs anymore.

  • Man, that is cool that you got his autograph. John Candy was awesome. To really see how funny he was, you have to watch some of the old SCTV skits. He was a comedy genius.

  • Uncle Buck was the first movie I ever saw him in. Still to this day my family refers to him as "Uncle Buck" because when we all watched it for the first time that day, so many years ago, it felt like he rally was a apart of our family, I hope everyone has the same feeling whenever they watch his films. We do, every time with every film he made. We miss you Uncle Buck.

    R.I.P.

  • If anybody ever gets a chance, read the Conan O'Brien's anecdote about John Candy. When Conan was with the Harvard Lampoon, they invited John to receive some award. Conan goes on to describe how down to earth Candy was. It's a short excerpt but really worth it. Goes to prove what a class act Candy was.

  • so much class. RIP.

  • john candy, always a good guy

  • John Candy was a tremendous actor and is greatly missed...

    R.I.P.

  • @nomoremrniceguy100 your a dumbass! Candy died from weight. He never did drugs. Get your shut straight motherfucker!

  • thats awesome. i Dont remember much of him growing up but now that iman adult i cant help but laugh at almost every scene i see him in. Just imagine if he was still here today collaborating with todays comedians

  • my respect and admiration for the man and his acting went through the roof after I read his autobiography....its an amazing read, for those of you who are fans. I highly recomend it.

  • @clintster77 When did John Candy write an autobiography?

  • @Prorokini1 Actually he didnt write it himself. It was written by Martin Knelman. The title is "Laughing On The Outside - The Life of John Candy" available from amazon or most good book stores. Was written in 1998.

  • @clintster77 Well, technically it isn't an autobiography then. Auto means self. But then again, several notable autobiographies are actually ghostwritten by other people. I heard about that book and I will probably read it in the near future. Just too much stuff to do know. I am curious about the book since it appears to be polarizing. People either love or hate it.

  • The best damn shower curtain ring salesmen wichita ever had.

  • john candy was a good bloke really miss him

  • He is so nice he but he is Canadian so of course he is nice :)

  • MAN! what a nice damn guy.

  • I love and miss you John. You were THE BEST!

  • Happy birthday, John Candy!! RIP

  • Seems like he was a really nice guy, sad that he died when he was actually losing weight.

  • @hmc117 He died of a cocaine addiction. Not weight. Either way, it sucks that he is gone.

  • @Nomoremrniceguy100 he died of a heart attack....

  • @Nomoremrniceguy100 I think he was off the stuff at that time. When John Belushi died, Candy claimed he was clean, and I think he told the truth. Watch the W5 interview (on youtube)…he talks about responsible decisions when you choose to have a family.

  • rember this from the movie planes trians automobiles why didnt he take the express way it would have been much faster John Candy says well the mans proud fo his town thats a dam rare thing these days haha.

  • he was awesome!!! so funny :)

  • Was a great guy. His presence, just seeing him brought a smile to your face.

  • The autograph is on the bumper, eh?

  • He was a sweet and talented man. We miss you Big John.

  • John Candy and Chris Farley were both one of a kind and never can be replaced. I miss these two awesome guys a lot. I feel a part of my heart is gone when I think of em and what awesome movies they would have out by now but the legacy they left behind will never be forgotten. Im lucky to have lived in there time to see their movies. The movies of the 80's and early 90's were the BEST!

  • What a gentleman <3 <3 <3 , May he rest in peace.

  • I remember when I rented planes - trains and automobiles for ther first time - I shit myself in laughter True talent and such a cool dude

  • Hey man, do you still have John Candy's autograph? You should upload a video of you with is, and add this video to it. Pretty amazing!

  • The deaths of John Candy and Freddie Mercury were the only reason I disliked the 90's.

  • The death of John Candy and Freddie Mercury were the only reason I disliked the 90's.

  • Funny how some things you remember and some things you can't. I can remember the day my dad picked me up from school. I jumped in the car and the first thing he told me was the John Candy died. I couldn't believe it, even as a young punk kid I knew we'd loss somebody pretty important.

"Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face."

  • A guy once asked John Candy to sign an autograph writing... Del Griffith, American Light & Fixture, shower curtain ring division, John Candy

  • @HeRacesTheSun Whenever I see a shower curtain, I think of PT&A. Regretfully, my shower has these stupid lucite slide walls.

  • Any one remember his cartoon Camp Candy? (I think that's what it was called)

  • @MsGina Yes, that's what it was called. I wish the series was on yt…or at least the live-action intros. Having John Candy tell you something about nature is awesome, even if you already know it.

  • Like others who have posted here before me, I too think John Candy was an awesome person both in movies & in real life! To me, he will always be my favorite comic, a rock star of an entertainer and a gentle giant of a man! I too was crushed upon hearing of his death. He was taken away all too soon. RIP, big guy!

  • I love John Candy.

  • I liked both them high rank'n comments. JC was and is great.

  • @93minuteman

I dunno, I've heard Keanu Reeves is more than willing to give autographs to whoever asks him.

  • I always thought he was a nice guy and this proves it.

  • John is so sweet.

  • nobody is or ever will be as sweet as Candy :D

  • Too bad all over paid millionaire actors couldn't be as gracious as John was when it came to autographs.

  • really nice fella

  • sure do miss him, will never be another John Candy!!

  • The real article comment almost got me crying over here! Phenomenal talent and man. I grew up through the 80's and 90's watching him. All my family members agree, he almost feels like an uncle in our family. movies of his were on re-run daily in our house. end of the day, I love the guy!

  • Seems like he was a real good dude

  • I've always felt that John Candy was all heart. He always seemed like such a standup guy. All of these years later, he's still missed by many.

  • The real article!

  • signed a 2 dollar bill for me at a leafs game when i was a kid, miss his talent

  • I hope you still have that autograph.

  • @coalie1979 At least we still have Jack NIc,Al PAcino and Robert DeNiro but yeah John Candy was a LEGEND :(

  • It's been downhill ever since. Seems like raunch took the place of real comedy.

The world is a little less colorful without this man.

  • Wish I could have gotten his :( but I was to damn little back then still a toddler

  • R.I.P

  • He is amazing in TPA.

  • @mrsbeasleysass Yes he was, I love John Candy! TPA is actually my favorite John Hughes movie!

  • When John Candy died it almost killed me, he was a legend and no one will ever be like him... Why couldn't they take Justin Beiber instead....

  • @ZroDfects I don't think that Beiber moron was born then was he? But I know what you mean!!! A genuinely painful loss for all.

  • @ZroDfects what about chris farley? he reminded me of john candy tremendously

  • @papiiuenvy186 John Candy wasn't a drug addict, his family had a history of heart problems and that makes a difference.....one was a family man and the other a party animal. farley was more slapstick as well with alot of his comedy coming from physical stunts. Candy was a better actor as well. the fact that they were both big is why you see the comparison.

  • @yetitracker I don't think being fat was the comparison. Its more like they both didn't act, they played themselves. The way they spoke, yelled, impersonated, moved, etc. was them being them. That had to be the comparison I saw. By the way your comment was well written, unfortunately, u made a first grade grammar error. it is spelled a lot ( two words not one)

  • @papiiuenvy186 I am always drunk when I get on here! lol I never saw a comparison between the two because farley didn't have the range that Candy did. he played a slob most of the time and even though i liked him it was for a different reason.Candy was the everyman that was charming while farley was a goof! I don't know that he could have played anything else. thanks for the spelling tip though! lol

  • @yetitracker I think you'd both agree that farley should be more compared to belushi than candy with his lifestyle

  • @yetitracker I think you're absolutely correct. Candy and Farley could not be any more different. I was just remarking to someone recently that Candy NEVER let his weight affect or color his characters or performances. Not the case with Farley. And Candy had subtlety. Farley's style was a lot more over the top and in your face than Candy's.

  • @ZroDfects You know what's extra sad? John Candy died 4 days after Biebs was born.

  • @ZroDfects Well Bieber was only 3 days old when Candy died, they couldn't take an innocent child

  • @ZroDfects As if anyone takes notice of the little GIT, RIP John, he will always be loved!

  • @ZroDfects No shit right. No one will EVER! replace john candy. not possible.

  • @ZroDfects John Candy died before Justin Bieber even existed.

  • @JLC31383 .. No shit sherlock.

  • @ZroDfects Actually I was wrong- Justin Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 when John Candy died on March 4, 1994. Bieber was already 3 days old when Candy croaked.

  • I forgot all about Barf!!

  • So damn sad. Comedy's a field of acting that attracts a lot of big egos and mean-spirited punch-lines. John Candy performed his craft without any of that. I still don't think the void he left has been filled.

  • @Inferno41 A football team couldn't fill the void he left. WAH WAH!

  • man your SO LUCKY I wish I could have met John Candy and got his autograph!

  • Damn, John Candy was pimpin' it in that suit. Greatest comic actor ever.

  • Love you John! Where's the syrup?

  • Legendary John Candy..one of the best comic ever!..rest in peace!

  • i miss uncle buck loved him as a kid cried my eyes out when he died

  • My in-laws met Mr. Candy and had several pictures taken with him in Las Vegas not too long before he passed...they said that he was incredibly fun and nice and one would never guess that he was a celebrity, very down-to-earth...so sad that he is gone, especially with some of the other "so-called" celebrities of today.

  • He was a great guy. What you see with John is what you got.

  • Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, Spaceballs,Cool Runnings, I'll never forget R.I.P Mr Candy

  • much, much respect

  • Watching Uncle Buck rt now... Tear..

  • I would love to have his autograph!!

  • It's cool that he was so nice to his fans.

  • Top Bloke.

  • Wow I had a got feeling he was a good guy but I never knew he was that kind.

  • Wow. Didn't even hesitate to give the guy his autograph just "yep sure can". Too bad our actors today throw up their nose at you like you are beneath them.

@ThatKidKnows you are an asshole making fun of his size then pretending to care goof

You can reply back by visiting the comments page.

  • @ThatKidKnows Sad how people will find ANY thing to troll or attack someone on. Kinda funny, but sad.

  • John Candy was A Class Act, One of a Kind & an Amazing Talent. There will never be another like him... RIP John.

  • How can anyone 'dislike' this? John Candy was an incredible man and all this video does is show him outside of the film world carrying on that trait.

  • Pure epicness

  • Happy birthday John. 60!!!

    I will miss you.

  • awww made me weep a bit that did.

  • John Candy is so awesome. I bet he's amking everyone laugh in heaven. We all miss you John Candy. RIP

  • @ChizmanDenver I've always believed that when you die and go to heaven you're greeted by John Candy -- beer and cigar in hand -- and he throws his arms around you and welcomes you in.

  • @zjg5001 I agree 100% with you.

  • @zjg5001 Well said, that's a great sentiment!!!

  • what a nice guy

  • I have a friend that looks exactly like John Candy! we call him Candy as his nick name!

  • An amazing man, RIP John.

  • He was a very nice man. I wish I could've met him. If you ask for an autograph from an actor/actoress these days, they'd look at you and say "buzz off" or "that will be $500".

  • John Candy was one of the funniest big men of all time........I still like Chris Farley better.........but Candy is a legend.......RIP, John and Chris --- YOU ARE BOTH MISSED BY MANY

  • There are people you get to know and truly love and when they pass on, you feel naked without them. John was one of these people for me, the world is a colder place without him in my life. RIP my friend.

  • I wonder what movies John Candy would be in today if he was still alive

  • I wish I could've met him, I'd love to have given such a sweet man a hug.

  • John Candy was a class act all the way!!! We love you John. Rest In Peace.

  • 3 people are jealous....

  • I introduced my 15 yr old lad to John in the last few weeks. Firstly it was Stripes and then Uncle Buck.

His response suggests that we are looking at a man who will remain ageless.

    Planes Trains and Auto's next.

    Gutted that he's gone.

  • WTF 3 people dont like this

  • Class Gentleman.

  • wish i was born early enough to meet him.

  • best fat funny man ever, there is no one that even comes close

  • Never forget John Candy

  • john candy chris farley the list goes on.... R.I.P

  • Dammit, I got wet eyes just watching that, what a great human being that we would still love to have here with us.

  • Truely a great man!

  • every movie john 'acted' in was not acting, i wouldn't consider it acting, it was like he threw his soul into his roles and he seemed so human in all of them that i would believe his characters actually existed in real life. that's how much of an amazing talent he was. love and miss you JC, watching planes trains and automobiles for the 5th time this weekend
