@NationCannabis420 yes 2 big buds will grow and it wont grow taller...and if you want after you top it to get those 2 big buds..you can top the 2 new tops, thus making 4 crown buds...its verry affective for small grow areas especially with height constraints...you can top it as mutch as you want provided you have a good enough nutrience but dont go crazy:) start topping above the third node, and go from there
Yes, you can't "overtop" because of bud-weight issues, and even if you're prepared to support the new weight of more buds with string-supports, in some species the power of the smoke will be lowered. Though that said, there are species that can be topped repeatedly but thats INDOORS, Though OUTDOORS with hidden crops one has a security issue to stay discreet and keep securing the extra weight of these extra buds via topping too much, though topping TWICE and NO more than that is usually fine.

if your planning on fertilizing your plants DONT it makes your bud less potent when when the female is fertilized completely all thc and resin production stops so my advice is if you want seeds have just one plant in a seperate area that gets fertilized

@665346 no, the only way to tell is by the preflowers. I first noticed that the tops of my males looked almost like a dandelion flower that wasn't open yet, know what i mean? like a flower bud, a lighter green than the fan leaves, then i started to get preflowers (about third week on my earlier plants, my latest plant didn't preflower until i put it into flower). wait for your preflowers to know, but DEF get on that heat, 85 is as high as you want it to get, otherwise your growth will slow.

@665346 honestly, i think you should invest in better lighting, if the heat is going to be a problem now it's only going to cause inconsistent tempuratures when the plants are taller. having to keep the lights too far away may cause you some stretching, unless you have decent reflective material. I've T-5 flouros ($200 fixtures) for my young ones, and a Penetrator pro 345w for my flowers (paid about $1,200), both are really low heat really low electricity, and i love the results.

@jethrowomber as long as u have at least 1 node under the node ur topping from u can do it anytime after that it all depends on if u want it short or tall i always let my mother hit 3-4 nodes b4 topping my other ones i use for experiementing i top basically right after seedling stage 2nd node as i grow from seeds. but good advice to all begginers out there get u some good ole bag herb/seeds and plant a bunch of them and experiement with them advice/videos etc. and u will find what suits u best.
@redballs FIM or "fuck i missed" is a different cut to this and is like an intentional mistake if that makes any sense. try both and see what you prefer.
@MicroNuggets This can be done at any time after the plant has 2-3 nodes before flowering, don't do it after it starts flowering. I'm confused as to which leaves are fan leaves but about 1-2 months before flowering i take off a third of the large leaves from the top half of the plant. Most people disagree with this method and say no healthy leaves should be removed.
@InKa4484 i nvr argue with succes but personally and from my own expierience i nvr remove the big leaves unless they are unhealthy, they pull in c02 they play many more vital roles in the plants life as well, but they DO NOT take from or anyway shape or form effect the production of the flowers as the leaves feed almost completely on nitrogen which the flowers them selves use little to none of this nutrient but removing under leaves is a good thing for air circulation just opinion is all.
@smokethatskywalker The reason i remove the leaves is so the sunlight can penetrate deeper into the plant. To each his/her own but I strongly recommend expirimenting, Cannibus is an extremely resilient plant that can take a lot of abuse and still produce.
@MicroNuggets you can do it anytime you want as many times as you want just let her recover a lil bit b4 doing it again. i wouldnt recommend doing it after you go into flowering but some do but very early. if ya live in the states i wouldnt cause you are prolly close to harvest
@MicroNuggets well when u top is completely up to u myself i start topping mine as soon as the 2nd node is growing its top and i top it then i top each one of them tops as they grow out and repeat but i like my plant short and bushy all ur doing by topping is multiplying ur branches for buds and tricking each one of the branches into thinking its top dog( cola) so u yield far more and no dont take the fan leaves they feed ur plant they are what uses the c02 and pull nuits from the air.
@MicroNuggets dont cut your fan leaves thay have stuff the plant needs in there, if you want a massive plant and be able to shape it into a monster bush you should start topping early, but as long as your plant is still in veg go for it

@harjotnijjar During veg atleast 15 days in then once a week, give it a week b4 you switch them to flower from veg after your last tip to avoid stress, a week into flower you can top again, (but no sooner stress is a factor) make that your last topping job, by this stage you could've done it 4 times, if you know how to tie a plant down properly your bottom

@redballs FIM or "fuck i missed" is a different cut to this and is like an intentional mistake if that makes any sense. try both and see what you prefer.

@MicroNuggets This can be done at any time after the plant has 2-3 nodes before flowering, don't do it after it starts flowering. I'm confused as to which leaves are fan leaves but about 1-2 months before flowering i take off a third of the large leaves from the top half of the plant. Most people disagree with this method and say no healthy leaves should be removed.

@InKa4484 i nvr argue with succes but personally and from my own expierience i nvr remove the big leaves unless they are unhealthy, they pull in c02 they play many more vital roles in the plants life as well, but they DO NOT take from or anyway shape or form effect the production of the flowers as the leaves feed almost completely on nitrogen which the flowers them selves use little to none of this nutrient but removing under leaves is a good thing for air circulation just opinion is all.

@smokethatskywalker The reason i remove the leaves is so the sunlight can penetrate deeper into the plant. To each his/her own but I strongly recommend expirimenting, Cannibus is an extremely resilient plant that can take a lot of abuse and still produce.

@MicroNuggets you can do it anytime you want as many times as you want just let her recover a lil bit b4 doing it again. i wouldnt recommend doing it after you go into flowering but some do but very early. if ya live in the states i wouldnt cause you are prolly close to harvest

@MicroNuggets well when u top is completely up to u myself i start topping mine as soon as the 2nd node is growing its top and i top it then i top each one of them tops as they grow out and repeat but i like my plant short and bushy all ur doing by topping is multiplying ur branches for buds and tricking each one of the branches into thinking its top dog( cola) so u yield far more and no dont take the fan leaves they feed ur plant they are what uses the c02 and pull nuits from the air.

@MicroNuggets dont cut your fan leaves thay have stuff the plant needs in there, if you want a massive plant and be able to shape it into a monster bush you should start topping early, but as long as your plant is still in veg go for it

@MicroNuggets Not sure about outdoor but I usually top 1 week before switching to 12/12 indoors. Most likely you wanna do it during veg. No i don't recommend cutting fan leaves.

@THERAMBLNMAN I have never supercropped so I won't even give you false information. Google supercrop and there are a few forums that have tutorials on both methods. Good luck!

@socalfrijolito I top and supercrop and have for 15 years inside, just topping is OK< BUt bend and crimp the branches, make them fill every gap, huge yield increase, 15 to 20 colas are not unusual, all the way from bottom[nearly] to top, three pounds from 1200 watts HPS In three months, thats 6 plants!!! THese are lovely, healthy plants though, no doubt:) Nice and compact, no pine trees here!!

@THERAMBLNMAN YEs man, but dont expect much weed from plants that young, i give clones about 4 weeks before 12/12, this gives at least 3 toppings and heaps of supercropping!!! HAlf pound plants, two per light, 400sHPS!!

@MicroNuggets You can do it any time after the plant has 3-4 nodes. Then you can continue to top all the way until flower, once it is 1week into flower stop topping or you will stress the fuck out of it.

@harjotnijjar During veg atleast 15 days in then once a week, give it a week b4 you switch them to flower from veg after your last tip to avoid stress, a week into flower you can top again, (but no sooner stress is a factor) make that your last topping job, by this stage you could've done it 4 times, if you know how to tie a plant down properly your bottom
