Absolutely the most amazing drummer of all time. To this day nobody can match his speed, style, taste and technique. Simply the Best.

Krupa popularized the drums and made them into a solo instrument. Buddy Rich once said that Gene was the "beginning and the end of all jazz drummers." Louie Bellson said Krupa brought the drums to the foreground. He is still a household name." So lighten up on one of the great pioneers of drummers.

His talent, sense of time, swing, technique, speed, finesse, everything is sooo godamn well placed and virtually perfect in every second, every decision, every execution, every drum phrase had something to do with the precedent one... Its just an embarassment. I feel embarassed by his GODLIKE talent, but more impressed than embarassed. Its like watching an alien coming out of an UFO near you. You just can't believe in what you're seeing. A miraculous event on earth.
this solo is top notch. no one comes close. he is the drum god. although louie bellson and joe morello are amazing too. there will never be in my eyes another soloist and percussionist like this. great timing, speed, swing, rythm,power and flare. all done gracefully and with real heart. r.i.p buddy.
