@nicholaspaddy This one's a 32 bass, so it has 8 rows but the counterbass and diminished chords are missing. There are plenty of 48 bass about, or you could also consider 72 bass which is quite easy to handle but can play in more keys. Depends what you want to play really.
Hi, I'm not shure, but I think it's a matter of "lift" or accent: reels are played "stressing" notes on the 2° and 4°... (don't know the english word, I guess is quarter), while the bass-chords are rightly played in the 1° and 3°.
Polkas are 2/4 tunes and for what I know sound different too, because the lift is on the weak time too... but I'm not shure.
Don't know if you have already solved is, hope I helped.
@MarkieBhoy17 Accordions are actually wind-based instrument. That's what the pulling and pushing is for. They're called "bellows" and push air across reeds, like a harmonica. At least I believe that's how it works. However, I do in fact know that there is no electricity involved.
Wonderful music. I'd always wondered what was the merry Irish tune used in THE QUIET MAN. Now, thanks to you, I know its the RAKES OF MALLOW. Thanks for posting.
absolutely brilliant playing

Is that a 48 base accordion? I have been trying to buy one for ages. I have the large120 base which is a little too heavy. Brilliant playing btw.

Dano, thank you for your kind comment. Now I researched it a bit, I think Rakes of Mallow is actually an Irish tune. Thanks, Terry.

I researched the same thing when we posted rakes of mallow. How have you been anyway, Bsam? Lovely music. When are you going to post more?
