Thanks a bunch for posting this video. Just got my mSR today and got my DX6I set up with your help. Awesome job thanks again. This little bird is fun.
Thank you for the video! I bought a SMR and it would hardly move. I put your settings in my DX6I. Happy to say perfect. Its a whole new beast. Keep up the vids.
yes just enable the mix so you can use it.... I cant tell you off hand right now cause my LCD screen just crapped out on my so I need to get another radio.... sorry
I uploaded these same settings to my Dx6i tx also to fly my mSR on. Followed you step for step. My heli doesn't respond in the same manner that yours does. Anythiong I need to check over? Are your settings dependent on the shorter blade lengths? Mine shoots of forwards fast and seems uncontrollable. I am certain that its me doing something wrong here. Help?
Well I don't know cause the shorter blades I did for a faster head speed making the heli react faster but going through the battery faster too.... up to you if you want to try that? Cause everything else was stock on the heli with those settings....
I sold the Heli around 4 mths ago now and just flying my Flasher 250 and my eSky Belt CP 450 size heli.....
i made the same set up on my DX6i with the stock blade mSR ... i must say it did flew much better than my first out of the box flight.. (i'll post a video response).. it seems that the 5n1 is responding to the heli programming on the DX6i.. even the throttle hold.. the D/expos and mix etc.. thanks for the very usefull set up.... cheers!!
this has been an ongoing thread since the msr and mcx debuted, mainly with msr, IT IS NOT NECESSCARY OR RECOMMENDED TO SET UP THESE HELIS IN THE HELI PROGRAMMING! the msr is a fixed pitch heli, it has no ccpm mixing, the lift is related to the head speed. there is no need for differentail its all done by the 5n1, lastly trying to adjust the gain or end point on the gyro is useless, it has absolutely no effect, again the gyro is built in the 5n1 and not adjustable. it flies better in acro!
@timothyrbates79 : I found it helpful to use the throttle curve settings, at least. Though I didn't even finish watching this vid, after seeing the posts. Got the idea from RCGroups.
@timothyrbates79 actually adjusting the gyro DOES have an effect on the MSR, just not on the gyro. It sets the low/high rate mode that RTF users are accustomed to. If the gyro is set at 60.0% or lower it is in low rate, and over 60.5% is high rate mode (50% by default, low rate). I sett mine to 0=0%, 1=100% switch=FM.
I also set D/R COMBI switch to FM. So Throttle curve(-/+), D/R Expo, and Low/Hi rate mode are all on the same switch (Flight mode).
@justinchrist762 I have the MSR and just got the DX6i. The pitch was not going all the way. It was slow. I checked the factory setting on the DX6i and the gyro was set to 50%. I turned it all the way to 100 and it made a huge difference. I think it just flips it to High on the Heli. Like you said. But I still get more forward speed with the transmitter the MSR came with. Any suggestions? I set the travel to 125% too.
well, sometimes the servos can only go so far and that's the limitation of the heli or servo... the only thing you can do is to make sure when you are not touching the sticks to make sure the swash plate is level and the servos are in the middle.. that way they get equal travel either way....... or get the or do the shortened swash arms mod I did and you'll get tons of throw from the servos.....
@erwin15erwin Very true but when I use the transmitter the Heli came with it has full servo movement but not with the DX6i. Great idea to shorten the swash arms for more pitching movment. That does make the servo motors work harder though. But they can probably handle it. Then it wouldn't matter if the DX6i is not giving full movment of the servos because I would have more than enough throw. The difference in the 2 transmitters moving the servos is slight but wondering why not full with the DX6i
ya just check out my videos on the swashplate mods I did with the arms.... you will get a very hyper MSR.... you can also buy a swashplate with the shortened arms but my way is cheaper and faster than waiting for shipping to get to your house.....
@erwin15erwin Yea I saw that. I might do that to mine. I think I saw a video of someone doing that to the MCX that coaxial helli that is really slow out of the box but made it fast.
I'll cut them with my Dremel and use PL Glue . I just ordered the HK450 Alloy kit. I want to hook up a camera like you did in your Trex 600 vidoes which are awesome. I want to fly by using a monitor/TV from inside my house or car. Like a spy.
ya i was just doing some testing on my rig I made up for my 600 heli... it was still a little too bouncy but not bad.... it's cool flying above the river.. always freaks people out ... they're scared I'll dump her into the water.... lol just fly high and don't thing bout it!!

All I did was cut about 1.5mm of the end of each blade.... Make sure to keep the same angle on each blade.... Doing so, you will lose some stability and the rotor speed will need to be sped up to keep a hover but she becomes a faster heli..
For the Gyro kick it up to 85-90% I like it set pretty high when I fly outside.... My throttle I have it set now @ 53% @ half stick & 80% @ 3/4 stick & 100% @ full throttle oh & @ 25% throttle mine is set @ 15%.... this makes for a soft start when throttling up.....

Why do you have negative exponential? that makes it MORE sensitive around center stick, right?
Natemare13 5 months ago in playlist RC Eflite Blade MSR DX6i Settings
@Natemare1
With Spectrum DSM2 radios yes it make it.more sensitive.... that's just the way I like it ... don't like sloppy sticks

Very nice! Thanks. These settings REALLY made the little bird fly better.

Gyro settings in your sub-trim and gain are useless,,,, they do nothing on the heli.

hi.thanks for the nice video,do you think this settings work with blade 120 sr?

@terriwang
well you could try them and if they dont work you can just put your settings back to Default....

Didn't know you could mess with the mSR gyro (I'll have to read the manual)
Just started using 50% curves (75% rudder)
Couldn't find the throttle curve (DX7 - when the wind drops it plummets and has bounced off the floor before the throttle kicks in)
I'll have to dig out both manuals
