Favoloso ! This is Motorhead's best song ever. Hardrocking and one of the best guitar solos in rock history. Listened to this over and over in the mid-1980s, never tired of it.
Another Perfect Day...WHAT A PERFECT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So but so underrated when it first came out unfortunately. From the rare occasions that ALL the songs of an album were good. Brian Robertson played a hell of a guitar back then!
I liked classic Motorhead i.e. Fast Eddie and Philthy but Another Perfect Day still stands as my favourited album the sound of the tracks really does stand out not quite Thin Lizzy and Motorhead but still a nice blend IMO.
This song is excellent, and Lemmy is IMMORTAL. I don't understand the carping against "Robbo" either. "He's a bit melodic eh?" Yes, but he's DAMN GOOD. Listen to Thin Lizzy's "Live And Dangerous." It's too bad he only did the one album with them.
Not Black Rose. He was in Thin Lizzy before that and after Night Life. One album he didn't play on (Bad Reputation) because he broke his wrist in a bar fight. Robbo was a real firecracker, supposedly he came on stage with a too too at a Hell's Angels concert. That did not go over too well.
OK, I'll take your word for it. What's the title of the album then where Brian Robertson (and I think the rest of the band) are standing on a flight of stairs (on the back cover) ?
@ScotRanger1960 yeah, you were close enough...he was excluded from the front cover of that album though, as Phil and the management were still pissed off at him
I never understood all the animosity against Robbo...anyone with 2 ears and half a fucking brain oughta be be able to appreciate the new dimension he gave Motorhead at the time. I mean, it still sounds like Motorhead for crissakes only with a really amazing guitarist!
Can't say this is just an ok song. I listen to it everyday before work, i just love that bluesy riff by Robo. Yeah, he' is no Fast Eddie Clark, but lets not forget he paid his dues in a little band called Thin Lizzy. Nuff' said!
Motorhead fans hated Brian "Robo" Robertson because of his penchant for wearing spandex trousers and refusal to play such Motorhead staples as "Bomber" etc. He was only on one album
good song, this is the first time i heard it, i think i have a new number 3 faverite, only after wish you were here and hey hey my my outta the blue into the black
hey im 14 im attempting to live the Lemmy Kilmister signature life style xD, im not even close but my singing and bass style is close, but certainly not and never will be as good as Lem's, Motörhead Förever!
One hell of a track....loved the album. Motorhead purists probably don't like this era but there are some great melodies in this album without loosing the Motorhead edge. Thanks for the posting together with "I got mine".
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks APD is a great album. I was 13 when it was released and bought the cassette... I loved it and still do.
The concert in Barcelona was a disgrace that year, as people started throwing coins at Brian, and Lemmy got mad, jumped down the stage and started beating the crap out of people. End of it.
It was my second concert ever (first was Saxon) and almost shat my pants!
No, you're not the only one at all. I LOVE this album (along with pretty much everything Brian Robertson ever touched).
Whether or not he was "right" for Motorhead is a debate that will run and run, but I for one am so happy & grateful this album exists. 2 Rock giants from opposite ends of the spectrum coming together & trying to meet in the middle, ended up making an absolute gem of a record.
Another perfect day, in my opinion, is Motorhead's best album to date because it's alot more melodic an. Brian fitted in well musically and his style complimented Lemmy's songwriting

I bow to your superior knowledge of Thin Lizzy. Wasn't Brian Robertson on the back cover of 'Black Rose' standing on stairs ?
ScotRanger1960 1 year ago
@ScotRanger1960
No, Gary Moore plays on Black Rose throughout. Maybe you're thinking of 'Fighting'?

OK, I'll take your word for it. What's the title of the album then where Brian Robertson (and I think the rest of the band) are standing on a flight of stairs (on the back cover) ?
ScotRanger1960 1 year ago
@ScotRanger1960 that would be Bad Reputation...Robbo "guested" on 3 of the 9 songs on that album, as he was officially no longer a member of the band
heavenhelp1982 9 months ago
@heavenhelp1982 Thanks for the info. So I was partially correct then.
