i got the e-revo few months back... dont have the 5000maH venom packs yet.. but with 3600maH i get a good 20-25 run time running full speed and jumping it. I hit a poll with it and cracked my plastic on the bottom but still runs like a dream. Recommend this to everyone.
Are you sure? I read AND talked to another R/C racer/Hobbytown employee and in both cases I read that the E-Revo has a remote-shifted 2-speed manual transmission as an option (if it's just single-speed, it's apparently a drop-in to convert it to 2-speed).
generally theres no point in 2 speed in electrics because they have a reasonably constant torque output at different revs. 2 speed does benefit electrics still because at the end of the day its better to be in a lower gear for acceleration no matter what the fuel sorce. however mainly only nitros have 2/3 speeds because different gears benefit them alot more because their motors are wanted to be doing higher revs which is where nitros (but not electrics) produce more torque
Hmm, that makes sense. Even still, I think it'd be cooler to have a low and high gear. I WAS going to get the E-Revo, but I've decided to get the E-Maxx instead, and I wanted to know if the E-Maxx comes stock with 2 speeds?
Eh, too late. I bought the E-Maxx about a week ago. I really do find it to be more appealing though. It looks better and I like the fact that it's heavy. Can't say much else is better though because the E-revo shares the same drivetrain/powertrain and handles better. But I'm not racy, so I chose the rugged Maxx.
I have vapextech 3700's 7 cells and i get about 25 minutes on average. I drive for about 5 minutes at high speed then bash. It's quite easy if you balance your running if you know what i mean.
Yes stock

hhow much does it cost to put a brushless motor in a E-revo? plz reply
9mike10 3 years ago
about 300$ for a standerd brushlless but erevo has 2 motors so thats about 700$ there
DemonGaaraV21 3 years ago
Moron. With an E-Revo when you convert to BL, Mamba Monster or Novak HV for say, you only run one.
phoenixfire47 3 years ago
i kno that but if its the vxl u run 2 of the bl motors
DemonGaaraV21 3 years ago
VXL's don't costs $300 :P maybe two VXL's cost that.

It's time to go brushless my friend. I drove mine once brushed - no comparison to brushless, period! 4s lipo, 9 or 8xl and you'll be amazed.
jethro450 3 years ago
Two questions:1)how fast is it 2)one or two speed transmission (in stock form).
sheik480 3 years ago
One speed. Electrics don't need 2 speeds.
goastdoggg 3 years ago
They don't, but it's a hell of a lot easier to change the gearing.

I hear you on the balanced driving situation, but I am not doing WOT runs, its pretty moderate.
I'll tell you though, I just got a pair of Maxamps 8000maH. They are bliss. 50-60min on average.
It has taken care of my problems.
