  • @supermark226 not a mod, per say. It's a custom map I built and loaded in Portal.

    Feel free to play it if you want, just download the link from the description open with 7zip, put it in portal\portal\maps, and load it with the console in game.

  • @redringovdeath I have Winrar and the .7z file has the same icon as a .zip or a .rar.. Try saving the file into your desktop, then do Open With with Winrar Archiver.

  • @TheAwsomeshadow The walls were created in Hammer editor, and tied to a func_door brush, which would move down when triggered. (Read a bit on hammer editor)

  • I didn't include the hammer file, so you need a bsp extractor if you want it in hammer, or just PM me and i'll send you the files.

    To install it, place the files in C:\\program files\Steam\Steamapps\(youracc­ountname)\Portal\portal\maps.

    I'm sure this is somewhere else on the comment page.

  • You want to make sure that the cake is Prop Dynamic, and that it's parented to the lift. It should go down then.

  • Have a Env_Fade and a Point_Console (I think that's what it's called.)

    Have a trigger activate the fade and the console

    In the Paramaters field when setting up the trigger for the console type disconnect.

    How do you give a prop a funcion?

  • Giving a prop a function, that's a little different. Define what you mean by "Function"

  • Well, what I mean is how to make the buttoon into a button that is usable, or how to make the door open, because when I try to tie an entity, ctr+T, it says you can't, how did you do it?

  • Not Gmod. Gmod's too simple. I used the Source SDK and the Hammer editor included in it. I might make tutorials soon, but there's already a lot of them.

  • Unfortionantly, that's not the case. There's an invisible block to prevent you from doing that. I designed it that way with that in mind.

  • You could just upload your map into Portal custom map dedicated sites (MyApertureLabs, Portal Maps, etc.)

  • To answer your questions, You can get hammer by going to tools, and downloading the Source SDK. Using hammer itself isn't that hard, but it takes a little learning. I might be starting tutorials soon. To use a bsp file, you need a certan tool to make it appear in bonus maps. If it doesnt load, activate the developer console (~), and type in "map (mapname)" and press enter. (no "' " 's) The map should load. I think there is a useful tool for making it appear in the bonus maps, look around.
