Here's my interpretation of the song. The woman (Elisa Day) is so overcome with depression that she wants to die and meets a manifestation of Death. Elisa is so depressed and hopeless that Death is "her only man" and so she willingly goes with him by the riverside where the roses grow (here, roses represent freedom and for Elisa freedom means death). So in the end, she and Death kiss and Death takes her. And so Elisa's beauty is preserved forever.

My only quibble is that showing her dead at the beginning and throughout the video gives away the song's plot twist too early.
