I understand why people say Silat is not martial art.People say it's only a dance, it has no power..bcause I used to think that way. But now I have different opinion, because once, someone revealed the secret of Silat to me. I was surprised, coz Silat is really deceiving. Silat is really like a dance, but its application in real fighting is really dangerous. Silat is a lethal art..But still, we must get a true teacher to learn this true lethal art of Silat..

The Silat depicted here is just the sport version, most of the techniques has been watered down to almost nothing, to make it as safe as possible. No, you're wrong. Pencak Silat is actually pretty famous and It is one of the most brutal martial art. Just because Americans and white people prefer Karate and Taekwondo does'nt mean that Pencak Silat sucks.

The reason that silat techniques are illegal in MMA is plain BS! You can modify your technique just to compete just like other martial practitioners do.
