I served in Iraq (Army 04-05) and I believe the war was a huge mistake, it had nothing to do with our freedom or protecting America, which Iraq was not a threat to, thousands of U.S. troops are dead as a result of the Bush administrations very poor war and occupation planning.
Thanks for your service, I hope you understand that this isn't primarily about Iraq, Terrorists have been killing our Troops and Civilians for decades, Iraq was a post 9/11 response (a totally justifiable one in my opinion)... You were there in 04-05, that was in the thick of the shit, but there have been huge improvements made for the Iraqi's in the last few years... The enemy was drawn into a war they couldn't win and now we have an important ally. I think that protects America long term.
I would be a little hesitant to call Iraq a firm "ally", Iraq had nothing to do with 911, it just distracted us for years from the real war in Afghanistan, we also got drawn into a war we cannot win in Iraq, there will be no military victory, even Gen. Petraeus said so, same for Afghanistan, our mission now is to prop up two fragile governments and prevent their collapse, the tribal differences in both countries are like a can of gas ready to explode, I just dont know how soon the spark will hit

I ran into a soul less asshole that had the gull to spit at a platoon of Marines while I was in NYC last month. He got a piece of my mind and the back of my hand.

I served in Iraq (Army 04-05) and I believe the war was a huge mistake, it had nothing to do with our freedom or protecting America, which Iraq was not a threat to, thousands of U.S. troops are dead as a result of the Bush administrations very poor war and occupation planning.

Thanks for your service, I hope you understand that this isn't primarily about Iraq, Terrorists have been killing our Troops and Civilians for decades, Iraq was a post 9/11 response (a totally justifiable one in my opinion)... You were there in 04-05, that was in the thick of the shit, but there have been huge improvements made for the Iraqi's in the last few years... The enemy was drawn into a war they couldn't win and now we have an important ally. I think that protects America long term.

I would be a little hesitant to call Iraq a firm "ally", Iraq had nothing to do with 911, it just distracted us for years from the real war in Afghanistan, we also got drawn into a war we cannot win in Iraq, there will be no military victory, even Gen. Petraeus said so, same for Afghanistan, our mission now is to prop up two fragile governments and prevent their collapse, the tribal differences in both countries are like a can of gas ready to explode, I just dont know how soon the spark will hit

Some Teachers are not only underpaid, but they spend their own money to provide an education for their students. They're called Home and Private School Teachers, they provide a better education at less cost than our public schools... Look at the drop out rates (kids don't quit because it's too hard, they quit because they aren't being challenged)...

Government TRACKED people who went to simple protests. Same as the NAZI's did. Government has DATABASES of people who can't even fly without being harassed simple for being against a BOGUS war they lied about. If you can't see the parallels to Nazi'ism, then enjoy your repression.
