  • BUT IT DOE NOT TAKE REGULAR GAS. It is a turbo engine and must use premium or you can damage the engine, warns you about this in the manual that comes with the automobile. Only thing that disappointed us as new owners last month .... we would have preferred a car that used lower priced gasoline.

  • is it really noisy inside?

  • @christophermok Nope, the car barely let's through any of the surrounding or the engine noise.

  • @teknizian thanks. and how do u find the rear space? spacious enugh? or not?

  • @christophermok Back seat offers space to 3 average sized people. Trunk is huge to what I'm used to; I could easily fit in it myself. You could easily stack two large suitcases in the trunk.

  • For 2011, not much has changed. BOOOOOOORINGGGGGGG

  • comparing to top selling is the CX-7 the worst gas gussler the best is the Toyota 4 runner V6 and V8 package damn.

  • Yeah I've got one. Impressive power exspecially when you remember that it's only a 4 cylinder 2.3 litre engine.

As for the blind spot that's what the wing mirrors are for. Few people seem to realize that the outside mirrors should be adjusted to see the blind spots, not look straight back (that's what the rear view mirror is for).

One other thing, when you punch it, it sometimes leaps and sometimes acclerates more slowly. Jekyll & Hyde, you never know. Also, significant turbo lag.

  • I love my 2007 Mazda CX-7 :)

  • Any chance they will put a V6 in the car? I once had a Volvo with a turbo and it drove me crazy when accelerating from a stop. I will never get a car with a turbo again.

  • @ATLOffroad why is that? What is the downside of turbo?

  • @tahj677 The turbo lag drove me crazy. At a stop I would press the gas pedal, the car would start to move, then about three seconds later the turbo would kick in and the car would lurch foward. Smooth accelerations were very tricky. When I sold the car and started driving a truck with a V8, the accelerations were a breeze.

  • very nice car Mazda you did a good job on this

  • And to the reviewer, bad drivers unite who constantly bitch and whine about "blind spots". GET A FUCKING BLIND SPOT MIRROR !!! Or are you that much of a bad driver that a blind spot is such a deterring point to a car. Stop whining about blind spots... it is easily resolved !!!

  • not even a blind spot i own a 07 cx-7 and u can easly see the area they showed in the vid with your right mirrior

  • I am looking at CX7 and I wonder if anybody has maintenance experience/problem with it.

  • Ive had mine for over 1 year and no problems so far!

  • Regular Gas!

  • i dunno what this guy is talking about but when I went to the Mazda site, it still says it needs premium gas.

  • No car "needs" premium gas to run. Manufacturers recommend premium gas but no single car needs premium gas to function. The octane difference is so negligible it is not worth mentioning. If you want to spend extra for premium gas, that's the owners' choice.

  • There are cars / motorcycles with a requirement to use 91 octane or higher. My Harley says use 91 or higher only.

  • Umm we tryed that it and the engine light came on and it messed up the fuel senser on our 07 cx-7 and the people at Mazda said if u didnt put premium gas in the 07 model it would make the engine knock

  • Any car with a turbo needs premium gas regardless of make.Just cut out a few hamburgers and budget for the extra $10 per tank full.

  • @IrisMG "Any car with a turbo needs premium gas"

Unless you put in Water Injection. I have an RX7 that runs 15 psi boost (10 psi is stock) on 91 (regular) gas (96 is minimum for stock). The Water Injection prevents detonation. Got 6% more torque just by switching to regular and another 80 HP by turning up the boost. For those that think high octane has more power, it doesn't. It just burns slower (prevents knock). Using regular is like advancing the timing so more power. WI slows the burn too

  • @warren52nz Hello Warren. Maybe I should have said, "any car bought STOCK from a dealer or private owner needs premium gas regardless of make." Wow it took a year for someone to respond to this?? LOL

  • @IrisMG Yeah of course, adding Water Injection is an after-market mod.

My wife put a tank of regular (91) in our CX7. I doubt she ever will again. 8^)

  • Actually its a Mazda 3/ Madza MPV(not sold in the US) platform and nas bits and pieces from all over the mazda parts bin including believe it or not the Mazda mx-5(the steering wheel is an MX-5 wheel). Its not a distinct ford platform. The mazda 3 itself is the base for and has borrowed from the Euro ford focus.

  • When I saw the chassis in the brochure I recognised the rear suspension from my mazda5.

  • Ford use the Mazda chassis you dumb ass

  • Beautifull car.

  • "blind spot": The seat doesn't have height adjustment?

The window line looks straight enough from front to back.

  • The side bar on the windshield is thick I almost hit a girl and a kid with it. But it's a beautiful CX indeed, we love it.

  • Nice review, a little boring though, I would have loved to see them throw the CX-7 in some turns.

  • mazda 3 review plz (not hatchback)
