You hear his music and you expect a sort of brooding loner with maybe a tattoo of DNA or Carl Sagan. I wouldn't have been surprised if he lived in the woods or on a mountain. lol
But instead he's just a regular guy that happens to be a very smart and passionate guy with a great ear for composing. But, like all the people that make this sort of music, who or what they are matters not. It's all about the music and what it does to and for me.
Robert Rich is definitely one of the shining lights hybrid (analogue/digital) synthesis - definitely one of the most creative and technically proficient musicians in this space. I know Bob from years past; he's always been ahead of the curve. I love his stuff!
@Yuwipiman You are most welcome, I'm glad you like! Parts 1 and 2 represent the middle third of the lecture and I have a majority of the other two thirds but . . it takes a while to go through and edit so I may not attempt it until sometime in August . . . maybe? ;-)

Met him once years ago. A couple times actually. One of the most intelligent musicians I ever came across.

Hey John, really interesting video, thanks for sharing.
With your D300 do you have a 5min record limit like I do on my D-5000? And What resolution were you shooting at?

@nathanielscott Thanks! Yeah, unfortunately, it's only 5 minutes, although I swear it seems to randonly shut off between 4:15 and 5:00! :-/
I was shooting at the max, 720p
