Solution to problem 1 is neat, but here's how I'd do it:
v = s/t
s1 + s2 = 1625
400/t + 250/t = 1625
650 = 1625t
t = 2.5 hours

that was a neat idea turning the question into two lines and then forming a ray out of the combination very graphical and rather unique. Your creativity is impressive, don't get a job in accounting. :)
