there are a lot of videos out there showing how one car passes another and so forth but unless they are racing, it is hard to tell what is happening. this is not a race so who knows what the real outcome would be if they went toe to toe. I would watch THAT video. The Carrera GT is a serious performer so I would not count it out just because the stang ended up in front.

@phv628 That Porshe got ran down no matter what way you look at it, when track racing you're usually told to let the faster car pass by either signaling with your arm out the window or the flag man will do it for you. Granted, the Porshe is probably making more power but the combination of factory suspension upgrades, tranny upgrades (B&M Ripper Shifter) and the substitution of a lightweight fuel cell on the Ford are going to ultimately be what allowed that Mustang to pass the Porshe.

I have several friends in our car club with stock Cobras and a few with Carrera GTs... personally I prefer the Porsche over the Cobras... even though you can buy 6 Cobras for the price of one Porsche.. Plus for the same price check out nelsonracing mosler, it sports a twin turbo 427 small block making 1800 reliable HP and does 270mph. whoa pal do you have your history completely wrong! ferrari was absolutely beating the hell out of everybody during the 60s and the corvette was not built to compete against ferrari and the shelby cobra wasnt either.  the Mark II GT40 was built to compete specifically against ferrari, designed by shelby and sponsored by ford. theres a book called "Go Like Hell" maybe you should read it and learn a thing or two.

I liked how the Cobra R was on that Carrera GT's back bumper in the turns but man it just shot out like cannon on the straightaways. Great driver in the Cobra R too. I was lucky to see a 2000 Cobra R while heading up to Road Atlanta back in my Junior year of high school in 2003. Beautiful car and amazing handling.
