@Timi116 Thats true I just went to the dentist today to get my teeth drilled and filled 8 cavities 1 root canal and when they put the needle in me I never felt anything not even a pinch but half of my face is like numb right now, my brother slaped me just for laughs and I still dont feel anything :D

Oh no!! Im getting a cavity filled tomorrow and i have a fear of needles!!! My mom says it will be fine but all moms say that! Does it hurt!? I dont care about the drilling its the needle im going to cry about :'(

@CupcakesMINTY make sure they put plenty of the numbing gel on it, and leave it on for a while...after that, it's a dull ache feeling...then once the numbing solution kicks in, all you feel is a pressure...sometimes you do feel a pinch, but it's nothing you can't stand...hope that helps...

what is like the gooey stuff in your mouth at the end?, i have to get this done and im really scared my first attempt was a fail, i wouldnt let the dentist inject me so he wouldnt take it out but my tooth hurts and i have to go back and im really scares what does it feel like? and does it hurt ?

@4lifeteamjacob make sure they put numbing gel on your gums and leave it for a while...the shot is like a pinch, a dull pinch...the gooey stuff in her mouth is spit

had this done to me today and the numbing solution made its way into my maxillary sinus, numbed the whole nose and half my face... 3 hours post injection and all I am is a little sore

when i was 9 i went to get my fillings the dentist had the needle right next to my face then i hit it with my hand then i got injected then i fellt really dizzy for about 2 minutes

I think she takes far too long to give the injection. I've had considerable dental work throughout the years and usually, the first injection is short to get the numbing started. The remainder are much easier to tolorate a longer injection.

@XDrummerSteve its better when they take their time so it doesnt hurt .... if you inject the anestesia at room temperature ( which in offices with ac or the anestesia is kept in a cold place), obviously you are going to feel it since your body is warm. the slower its inserted the less painful it is.

@XDrummerSteve you are supposed to take 60-90 sec to administer a full carpule of anesthetic. Why? Because it is less toxic to the body because it is absorbed into the blood stream slower. And, it is not as painful. Especially with small children you want to go very slow. She was doing it correctly.

@btesseo12 if they get it nice and numb, no it usually doesn't hurt, you just feel pressure, tugging, etc..then with root canals you have that grinding sound in your skull...but if the dentist gets it good and numb, it shouldn't hurt, and if it does, make sure they know about it...

@MasterGamer3001 sometimes the root has not desolved on the baby tooth, so it is like pulling an adult tooth..this is what happened to Elisa...but she was numbed up well, and she did fine and you will too! good luck!
